I have a couple boxes of pre-war 357's but neither one are large primer.perhaps by 1938 they were using small primers. The six in the case are pre-war but small primers. As to the ivory,I really have no idea. They were on the gun when I purchased it and there are no markings anywhere. I have seen a similar pair on this forum at some time but can't remember when.

I think You are correct that by 1938 they where using the small Pistol Primer Brass.

That is w/o a doubt two of the most beautiful items i have ever seen... The revolver is in what i would call close to "pristine condition"... That case, i don't have words to describe it... Can't begin to fathom the expertise it takes to have the talent to create such a beautiful piece...

Bam-Bam Yes, all my guns are waxed. I have used Renaissance wax, but I personally like Collinite's No. 845 insulator wax. I have used it for years with great results. You can get it through Amazon.

I have accumulated lots of stuff through the years, thanks in part to friends and acquaintances who know of my love of the finer things in life S&W's. It is in that vein that I offer the following. I will GIVE to you 6 rounds of NOS Winchester .357 MAGNUM SUPERSPEED 158 grain lead in Nickel plated cases with LARGE PRIMERS. The head stamp is W.R.A. S&W .357 MAGNUM.
