Hello All...new to the forum. I took a notion after 30+ years without a handgun (last was a Walther PPK that was stolen) to get a couple of pistols before someone in Washington tells me I can't! I'm more of a traditional gun kind of guy and had gone to a couple of local gun shops and local shows to see what was out there. I was not impressed by the new poly guns (I know they are state of the art but just could not warm up to them) and opted to search for more traditional, classic metal frame pistols. I bid on 2 guns on Gunbroker thinking I might get one and ended up with both! The first is a mint M59 with less than 50 rounds through it and the second is a LNIB Model 669 stainless (looks unfired and not a mark on it). I have a couple of questions and hope someone on the forum can help.
Production dates? The M59 serial # is A6965XX
The M669 serial# is TBY09XX
I paid $300 for the M59 and $395 for the M669. From what I have been able to see on some of the sale websites, the prices were fair...what do you think?
I bought these pistols for home defense and don't intend to carry. I thought the 669 would be a little more user friendly so that my wife (deathly afraid of guns!) would actually learn to shoot.
If anyone can help with instructions on how to post pictures, I would love to show them to you and get your thoughts and opinions.
Many Thanks
