I ordered these from Herrets way back in march. The woman that carved the stocks passed away. I didn’t want the custom order work to end. So I decided to wait for mine to be done. Originally I was planning to send them off and have custom carving done to them. It would have been religious symbolism. The logo in my profile picture is actually one of the things that would have been carved into it. Because I was going to get involved in quick draw and knife throwing shows. That’s actually what my custom rig was meant for. But I am getting more involved at work. And I joined my church’s safety team. I decided that it would be best not to perform shows. My python has been cleared for uniform carry.
But I am allowed to swap its grips. The guy said he can carve kearsarge pattern into it. But at this point I’m a bit burnt out about custom carvings. These new grips fit my hand perfectly. They slide into the perfect grip. I’m thinking about burning my initials, stain them and be done with it.

To give you an idea of what carved/checkering might look like, this pair of Roper style stocks was made several years ago by Keith Brown. Click on the photo for a better look.

If you are interested in another idea that wouldn't be too much trouble, you could always have a woodworker add a Barber Dime to each side.

One side heads, one side tails. Indian head pennies are cool too.

Something you don't see often that is kinda neat in my opinion. Good luck

Hard to tell if the backstrap is covered or not.
Would appreciate a picture of the inlet work.
Thx
No long barreled 357 in the house, so a Python at 8"
or thereabouts, or a long blued round butt N frame Smith,
would be great.
The Smith would be greater. :D

And a 16" '92 in 357.
