My old 2000 Excursion has a 44 gallon tank, and it's a diesel.....

I was telling folks recently that the highest I ever paid was $5.02/gallon back in 2008....

Well, had to fill up the other day and it was up to $5.36/gallon.... ugh....!!!!

I'll never get rid of the old girl, but she is eating a larger percentage of our food budget these days....

My solution to high gas prices.

Do you shoe your mule yourself? I haven't worked up the
courage to more than trim a hoof now and then. These flint/
chert rocks in NW Arkansas seem to do a pretty good job of
keeping their hooves trimmed. And my mules see zero hard
use, so no need for shoes. I do have a couple of old mule
shoes hanging in the blacksmith shop just for days gone by.

I just realized recently I've been retired from the fire dept as many years as I worked. I have saved a LOT of gas. I just can't figure out where I put it
