Today my son finally had a chance to meet me at the range to ring out his new "no thumb safety" Shield 9mm. He got it from Quantico for $299 plus $10 shipping and a $20 transfer fee from the receiving ffl. He's Army E6 and was able to take advantage of their special pricing.

He graciously allowed me to run some rounds through it (American Eagle 115gr. fmj). What a great shooting little gun, the trigger is perfect as is for a carry gun and he intends to keep it as is. I gave him an Ameriglo front night sight we need to install but that's it. I plan on getting one for myself but will have to wait until after tax time to do so.

He shot my full size M&P (has Ameriglo i-dot sights and the Apex duty/carry kit) as well and do believe the Shield won't be his only M&P haha.

The Shield was 100% reliable, no issues with the above mentioned ammo as well as Speer Gold Dots I bought him for a sd load.

Another winner from S&W.

Congratulations to you and your son.

I love my Shield more each time I shoot it.

Are you talking about the Quantico Gun Shop in Clarksville, TN? If so, I was there visiting my Brother in law and we went to Quanico and I was pissed at the price of the Shield they were selling it for as I paid slightly over $400 for mine when they first came out. I couldn't buy one as I am not military anymore.. Needless to say it ruined my day the price of that Shield. Good for your boy though. I told my brother in law since he is current military he should have bought one on the spot. Awesome weapon is the Shield. He will love it.

Ran about 100 rds through mine today as well, It shoots a tic left, I'll bump the front sight. I fed cheapo 115 grn FMJ. aluminum cases, brass cased, some Federal HST 124 and Blazer FMJ 124 as well, not a hiccup !!!
I do like this pistol!
