Made some progress on the interior, new hammer nose Thanks to Retired W4 (Tom) and waiting on another part from a member here. Ultrasonic cleaner, dremmel and plenty of Hoppes #9 so it is going slow..Tried to add this to my original post "And you think your gun is Ugly" but it wouldn't let me..

AJ you are correct. A friend of a friend once asked what I’d charge him to tear down his AR and give it a deep cleaning. I asked him what happened to it. He said nothing. I just don’t know how. I thought to myself, most military men (my son included) can literally do that blindfolded. Told him I would just help him that way he could learn. Never heard from him again lol.

In Boot Camp, we had to be able to tear down and reassemble the M1911A1 and the M-14 blindfolded. We were taught that under the premise that you may have to do it in a fighting hole to be able to get back in the fight some day. I never had that experience and am glad I did not! Don't clean as often as I should, but that is another story.........

Back in the 90’s I went to Sig armours course for my PD…they had a thing called the “trough” where all the parts to the current Sig line were dumped into it and you had to find the correct parts for the frame they gave you and build the gun..

I bought a used 36 at Cabela's five years ago that was so glued together with old lube that it would barely turn. 30+ hours work with cleaners and solvents later, it is one of my two favorite j's. Shoots well and the trigger is excellent. It's possible with any old undamaged Smiths we my find.
