Anyone else using the NcSTAR Mark III rubber armored 4x32 tac scope? I know NcSTAR isn't ideal but with such low recoil from a .22, I figured holding zero shouldn't be a problem. However, twice I've had to make upward adjustments. Anyone else having this issue??? Thanks guys.

From what I can tell, NcStar doesn't have consistency in quality. Either you get a good one, or you don't. I have one that I plan on putting on a .223. I'll report back once I get a chance to use it.
 
I haven't had a chance to range test mine yet since my rifle is barrel-less at the moment. I recently purchased the Ultimate One sighting system which is comprised of the Mark III 3-9x42mm, a rail mount and the DDAB red dot sight. Initial impression has me impressed, the optic is clear, the reticule is parallel and over all quality seems good.

The range test will make or break it. I won't "really" get to test it till this weather breaks and I can get out and get it shot in @ 100 yards.
 
Also, I've dropped mine twice and it still seems fine. Took a chunk out of my leg though.

Let the record show that I have the 6X42 model.
 
I was looking at the ultimate one as well but decided on the mark III. The ill retical and laser combo option though doesn't work so I'm exchanging it. Might upgrade to the ulimate 1.
 
i just orderd an ncstar 1.25-4x32 for my 15-22. i hope it is one of the "good" ones. it was only 119.00$, free shipping. from optics planet.
 
Are people ever going to figure out that NC Star makes cheap junk? Don't complain about them after you buy it! Buy something good if you want it to work properly.
 
And can you recommend a suitable alternative to the MarkIII aside from the $1500.00 A.C.O.G???????? I've searched high and low and there is no other 3-9x42 scope that has the features of the Mark III at any price range.
 
What Brett said. Some of us want a compact scope with some magnification. I too have looked everywhere and the NcStar is the only one that fits the bill, unless we want to spend the big $$$ on an ACOG, which for me, costs more than any one of my rifles. No thanks.

I too, wanted the 4X scope, but it's months away from coming back in stock. With the research I've done, it seems that most people are very satisfied with it. I plan on picking one up once it comes back in stock, then testing it against the NcStar and keeping whichever I like better. Expect a long wait though.
 
Exactly, I too would LOVE an ACOG on my 15-22. I'm just short about 1500$. The NcStar has what i'm looking for at a price within my range. I've already almost doubled the price of my gun in accessories alone!! This was never my intention, but we all know how that goes... I just can't justify spending more than 100 bucks on a scope for a .22 that i will use for plinking. From what i gather i'm in the same situation as most people here. there are no ACOG's on any pics in the pic thread either.

We are hoping to see the M3 and M3Multi in about 45-60 days. The M4 is about 30 days out. The 4X compact scope it about 45-60 days out as well. The Gen1 Micro dot with the fixed base will be here in about 1 week and the Gen2 and Gen3 Non-Blem Micro Dots wil be here in about 2-3 weeks. Yeah, I got the same response when I asked. I mean, if you can wait, I'd say go with PA over NcStar. I, on the other hand, couldn't wait so I went with the NcStar, but I'll be picking up a PA as well once they come back into stock. It'll be interesting to see how the two compare.

That being said, keep in mind that BOTH are from China. That sort of thing doesn't bother me, but take it as you will.

Awesome. Can't wait to watch. I finally got my new rifle in and I've attached the sight. Can't wait to try it out, see if it holds zero.

Anyone have their NcSTAR mounted on a carry handel? Or could they i'd like to see a picture
 
Well this is embarassing.

I was adjusting my scope and the side of the rail popped off. I've tried to put it back on, but it doesn't look like there's any possible way to do that. Lol...I didn't even get to shoot with it on! Piece of junk!

Now, the question is, do I pay the $10 to get it repaired so I can sell it, or do I just trash it and call it a lesson learned?
 
Interesting.... There are a pair of pins inside those springs that are supposed to be pressed into the black plate that came off. Those pins are not supposed to come out of that plate, they align the plate in the springs and prevent it from coming out. But I can plainly see in your photo that neither pin is in the plate where they should be.

I don't think "I" would send it back, I personally would mix up a small batch of 2 part epoxy and would epoxy the pins in their holes and make sure they never came out again. If you need help I can help with photos to show you how mine looks.

I guess the quality on these is all over the place, mine so far seems to be put together right.

I don't even know what epoxy is.

I'm thinking I'll just trash it. $95 for a lesson learned.
 
Why would you trash something when you can fix it easily?

Honestly it would take a few moments of time, relatively no cost.. wouldn't come apart again and you'd have a working scope.

Epoxy is a 2 part liquid you mix together and it chemically hardens in a set amount of time (quick epoxies in a few minutes) are readily available at the hardware store for cheap. Or you could just use superglue but I'm not sure how well it would hold..

If you are going to throw it in the trash, by all means I'll gladly pay you to ship it here.....
 
These dime store optics are meant for .22lr or airsoft. They are not "junk". They are great optics if used for the correct application.

No one ever said these were made for .22's this scope in particular is marketed for a .223 and there are more than a few videos on Youtube of these scopes being shot on AR's.

I think the issue here is just quality control.... These Chinese facility's do not adhere to any sort of ISO controls. You get one good scope, 5 duds, 2 good scopes, 3 duds.. Just depends on what person is working that day...


Controls Compliance is how you build a great product, and also why great products aren't cheap.
