Anybody know a source or have any for sale? The few vendors I know don't have them. I want to make my 457 mags a little lower profile. TIA

I restored a few dozen 645/4506 mags this past summer and got mine through a mix of Numrich, Ebay and I want to say Midway had some too (but it might have been the 5906 and 6906 mags I also restored that I'm thinking off).

How many do ya need Shipmate?

I can spare some but you're gonna need to make a spacer or shorten the magazine tubes to make 'em work.

You could sign up at Midway, and check the Notify Me box on the part. My experience with them has been that unless it's marked as a Discontinued part, they still get small numbers of some new factory replacement parts shipped from S&W now and then. It's unpredictable, and if they list it as No Backorder that seems to mean they have them on order, but don't know when they may get more.

Midway link: (outside Midway link, but Access Denied shown because you have to choose to proceed)

As BMCM showed, unless you shorten the magazine tube you won't gain a lower profile with 4506 bases. I'm sure you understand.

Maybe another option would be using pre-rail 4513TSW bases. They won't make overall length shorter but the finger rest will be gone so that's something. I don't use them on 7rnd .45acp magazines but do on my CS40 and CS45, (with custom grips,) and of course my 6rnd 4513TSW.

They are difficult to source but can be found.

I thought it was a proper fit out of the box. Thinking up plan B as I proceed… but will look around for 4513TSW plates too. Thanks to all!
