Need a Smith for 2nd generation Auto (659)

I asked this question in the gun-smithing section and no one responded so I'll try here if the group doesn't mind.

I'd like to love this gun but it has a couple of problems that make it less enjoyable than I thought it would be.

Actually it's one problem and that is the trigger. I know the long pull is necessary but it doesn't have to be so heavy and break like my gravel driveway.

S&W doesn't support this gun anymore so I'm looking for a good Gunsmith who can lighten and make the trigger smoother and crisper.

Has anyone had experience with a Smith who works on these second generation guns or has gun-smithed them themselves and lead be in the right direction.

The S&W 2nd (and 3rd) generation pistols are somewhat difficult actions to tweak, there's a lot of stuff going on at the same time when the trigger is pulled, and that contributes to how it feels.

On the DA pull you're mainly working against the tension from the hammer main spring and the trigger return spring, people have used Wolff springs to reduce the pull... just have to be careful not to go too light on the hammer spring and risk misfires from light primer strikes.

As far as the trigger/sear break, that's best left to someone that knows the inards of the S&W pistols. My vote goes to Wayne Novak's shop... Wayne was involved with S&W when the refinements and improvements were being developed to make the 3rd generation pistols.

I sent a 4516-1 in a few years ago, and I'm really pleased with the results.
