Need help picking next revolver

That depends on the 34. If it is a round butt, then yes, either of those will fit. If it is a square butt then neither of them will fit. Hogue doesn't make any rubber grips for square butt J-frames.
Pachmayr makes some rubber grips that fit square butt J-frames.
Like the Compac model 03255 and the Gripper 03250 model.

Looks like I got here a bit late as smoore has already found two guns. Good choices btw.

My favorite stocks for my 4" Model 34 are the S&W factory target stocks. They fit both round and square butt guns. They're just perfect on the J-frames and seem to work equally in the hands of adults or children.

Well I picked up the Dan Wesson today. It is a beautiful gun, providing you like them. Looks to be unfired. 2 things I am not happy with on it though are the factory grips, they are uncomfortable, but I like the color. And the trigger. It is not nearly as nice and crisp as my other Dan Wesson. This may be due to never being fired. It just feels sluggish like walking in mud or something, at least compared to my other Dan. My smith has a better trigger too. I am doing so research now to see if anything can be done to improve the trigger. If not i think it is still going to be a good shooter. I have some snap caps in it now. [emoji3]

I've had a few DW revolvers and always liked their combat grips -





I think they work well on the ribbed barrel up to 6" and the plain up to 8".

I ended up ordering a set of these. Pachmayr 03250 Gripper Grips, S&W J Frame Square Butt

I may try to find some wood ones too, but I wanted something easy for my kids to use.

I've got two. One is a five screw pre model 18 with a 4" barrel. The other is a four screw model 17 with a 6" barrel. Both are six shooters and the 17 gets shot the most. It's a little rough finish wise and has the name "Hugh Harrison" nicely engraved on it under the cylinder. I've done a lot of investigating on who this may have been, but I have been unable to turn up anything on who he is/was. Both are very good shooters even though I have to knock the empties out of both of them. The 17 does a lot of snake patrol when I'm fishing. My SIL wanted a decent .22 single action so I bought him a Ruger single action for Christmas. Single or double doesn't matter with me with a .22 as I don't plan on using a .22 for a defensive weapon. I like the older stuff and there is still a lot of them out there if you look around some.
