I had Clark Custom build me a PPC gun on a Model 10 frame and it has the slab side bull barrel, underlug, and Aristo-Crat rib. Who makes a left hand PPC holster for this gun besides Ted Blocker? I called Safariland and asked about their Model 002 competition holster, but the lady I spoke with said they don't make a holster for the gun.

Is there any maker who has a holster for my gun?

Thanks.

Hi Bill, saw the pic of your PPC last night. Nice gun. How does it shoot? You have a bunch of really neat toys. Larry

Thanks Larry. The gun is a tack driver. I took it to the range yesterday and got it sighted in at 7, 15, 25, and 50 yards. Our club holds a PPC shoot in the summer, so I'm trying to get my gear together for next year. I had a nice leather lined PPC holster years ago when I was actively shooting PPC way back then, but alas, I sold it, and now need another one.

Bill, I am told you can take the 002 and heat it up with a good hair dryer and move the holster around to fit larger barrels.

your best bet is the used market and ebay is where I would look.

there was a nice (R/H) reno holster on sale there the other day and no one bid on it. I would have, but I already have one.

another holster which is no longer made is ernie hill. his stuff is heavy duty with a steel inner and thick leather outside. you can actually bend to accomodate various barrel widths. some have muzzle spuds which add to gun retention.

every now and then a lefty appears on the bay.

good luck and I will keep my eyes open for you.

The Safariland 002 will work without modification if the barrel is one inch, or smaller in diameter. If the barrel is bigger than one inch then you use the hairdryer trick CQB mentioned. The 002 is my back-up holster and my gun has a 1 3/8" barrel, my regular holster is made by Brian Hoffner, but unfortunately he isn't making the PPC holsters nowadays. His holsters are well built and comfortable plus they carry the weight of the heavy guns well.

I believe that Brownell's has the left hand 002 on their website.

EDIT: I just checked Brownell's, here is the link to the lefty http://www.brownells.com/.aspx/sid=29608/pid=12485/sku/Holster_for_Factory_Heavy_Barrel_LH_BLK. If your get the dealer pricing, your cost is considerably less.

If you go to optics planet, type in safariland cup challenge it will show their spx or whatever holster, kydex, rounded channel for your bull barrel ,right now left hand, for 60.00 and change with free shipping, you cant beat it if it is tight just loosen it up insert a piece of wood (i used a hammer handle slightly larger than my ppc gun and hairdryer it and let it sit, then put your gun in and tighten the screws as you like, add a safety stap and your good to go, good luck Bob
