Hello All,
I've recently come into a 3rd Gen 4513 TSW with it's box and two 7 round mags. Merry Christmans indeed! Before searching for spare mags, will all compact 45 models be interchangeable, 4516, 457, etc?

Thanks in advance and Happy New Year to All

Yes and you can also use the longer 4506 type they will just stick out a little.

Congrats on a great find!!!! Got one myself!
But where are the photos??

Hi All,
I know, we need photos,,,,so here is my grail gun. Finally replaced my baby after not having one for almost three years. She is LNIB, fantastic condition, TDS serial which put the mfg. date near 2000? Please feel free to correct me if wrong. Santa, with help from this forum, came through. I feel awkward mentioning it, the price was $400 FTF here in Central Florida.
Now to find a worthy IWB holster which will not mar her finish.

Happy New Year to All!!

TDS serial which put the mfg. date near 2000?

If that is the original box (check by matching the serial number on the box label against the gun serial number), there might be a "Spec. Ord" number. The first digit represents the year of manufacture (9 = 1999, 0 = 2000, etc.) and the next three digits represent the day of the year (001 - 365). You should be able to determine the approximate date of manufacture from this information.

Try a Galco. Nice and soft leather: Galco holsters; Holsters; Gun holster, pistol holsters, western holsters, shoulder holsters, leather holster and Glock holsters

Great

gun....even better price.

Are you planning on keeping the rail on the front or removing it? That's a big issue around here ;)

As far as leather, keep an eye out on the for sale forum. I've been able to find outstanding used leather rigs from some of the quality leather maestros at a very reasonable price. Just takes patience.

Okay, the box is indeed matching numbered to the pistol and the special order number is 0084, so it looks like it is a 2000 model. Really appreciate the help with that date.
I will definitely look into the Galco rigs, this 4513 deserves the best I can afford.
As to the rail, I'll probably keep it. Not a huge deal with me, actually I sort of like the looks. Just my 2 cents of course.
And thanks to forum member RedCardinal I have two new looking mags on the way. A very fortunate weekend all things considered.

Thanks to all for the information

That Galco rig is only like 30 bucks and fits perfectly even with the rail.

Hey Cobra357,
I casually mentioned my search to another Smith fan at work. He remembered his in-Law had two and might be in the market to sell. He was. This then comes under that searching rule about the "blind squirrel". Believe me, if it was a store with others I would gladly have shared.
