A good friend passed me a 66-5 missing hammer, trigger, springs, cyl. Latch button. I go grab it tonight, but wanted to see where the best place to get parts would be. I believe this would be a MIM hammer which I'd rather avoid if possible.

Part two of the question, are these easily installable, or should a gunsmith handle these chores?

Thanks,

Michael

First, I would get a copy of Jerry Kuhnhausen's Smith & Wesson Shop Manual. Then, I would check the Numrich gun parts site or Jack First or possibly fleabay. Some parts replacements require them to be fitted.

I assume if you have no trigger you are also missing the hand that was fitted to the cylinder's ratchet? You would likely be better served with this thread in the Gunsmithing section. Forum member "armorer951" will likely be able to point you in the right direction.

I hadn't heard of Jack First, I'll check them out, thanks!
