Never sell my gun?

I'm down to 5 firearms I will never sell..........unless something else I want comes along or I'm offered an inordinate amount of money for them!

I used to sell the guns I won when I was competing, that was just business. I have sold a couple that I bought for different reason but never became "attached" to. Some of these I wish I had kept, some I don't. There is only really one that I bought and sold that I REALLY regret and that was the Python. What a freakin moron I was.

All that said I am really thinking I should downsize my collection. In the morning I hope to be rid of such a foolish idea.....

Never say never....

Unless circumstances dictate I would like to keep my 686 come heck or high water. The others are open to trade. I only have a few guns and I'd like to get more. I can't relate at all to having owned a lot of guns.

When I hear someone say they will never sell a gun I think, wow, you must not hope to own very many. I sell what doesn't fit my needs, even if I saved and searched for years to get it. If it isn't "interesting" is goes away.

When I hear someone say "I never sell a gun" or "I'm always buying and selling guns"... I don't pretend that I know anything about them or their motivations.

I get tired of people stating what "I'm thinking" or what motivates me when they don't know me at all.

I don't have a problem sellnig or trading any of my guns except one. My Beretta 92FC was issued to me on the job NIB in 1988. When I retired in 1991 I bought it and only once let it slip away. Gave it to my son but soon realized that I really wanted it. So, bought him a new Beretta and got my old 92 back. Sits in the safe today, functions just as well as it did that day 25 years ago when I first got it. All paperwork and box reside with it. other than that, I'll sell or trade any of them, depends on what catches my eye. That's the fun of it.

When I was younger, I was a buying, selling, trading fool. Then in about 2000 I really slowed down and then in 2004 pretty much stopped altogether. I sold one gun in 2004 and another in 2012. Just decided I wanted the ones I had and no reed to keep swapping and such. I sure do miss a number of those I foolishly got rid of.

I started shooting only a few years ago and I bought three pistols, a Keltec PF9, a Sigma 9mm and a Sig P250 40sw. I sold the PF9 and kept the other two.

I don't have the budget to buy and sell guns but I'm satisfied with what I have. The p250 40sw for home protection and the Sigma 9mm to carry in my car.

I always tell myself I won't sell them. But if there's no connection after awhile then I don't mind letting it go.

When I was younger (a lot younger) I used to be into mil surp rifles. being as how I lived in NYC at the time I had only one handgun a series 70 gold cup. That got sold just before I got married. Then I went through what I call my semi auto phase. Ar's, H&K's you get the picture. But mostly mil surp rifles. Moved down to Louisiana the mil surps you see in nice shape come so unexpecedly that it's like Christmas when you do find a nice one. But have been led down the trail by collecting S&W revolvers. I was hooked and didn't even know it.
