I saw a post the other day by jimmyj: "Too Old To Be A Cowboy". Here is my wife's youngest grandchild, aged 2 tomorrow, and "his" horse, and he's just about 2 seconds
away from kissing her on her nose. She is a retired Skipper-W bred roping horse that he has fallen in love with and rides her every chance he gets. (The mare gets led by grandma while he sits in the saddle whooping and hollering - the old mare loves him also).

You can get a perspective of the difference of their sizes in this picture of her.

He started riding her earlier this spring and it was love at first sight.

Thank you for the enduring pictures. I am harkened back as a youth in Montana. My best friend Tom, who's father owned a ranch, taught me to love horses, ride and rope calves. He was a great mentor. Best memories of a 4th grader. Then John Wayne's movie The Cowboys came to the big screen. I felt larger than life! Get um started early. They will never forget you.

I have always loved pictures like this. No fear at all--gotta love that. Besides, being a Cowboy is an unique American way, so saddle up--move'em out--rawhide. Post some with him in the saddle. When he get's much older, he will appreciate them even more.

Thank you,
