WORD TO THE WISE --- How true it is that class of movies they call "Chic Flicks" has a perfect name.

It is getting great reviews, that should have been an indicator. Just looks like an episode of Dateline to me. But you have to admit, Ben Affleck is sooo dreamy!

Wifey read a couple of the Outlander books before the series came out on TV. Now I'm not a real fan of female authors most times but, I've got to say this TV series is outstanding.
If you're into Scottish history and excellent cinematography, you might like this one.

OP. Keep track of the time you spent there. You can trade it for some extra "Boys' Night Out" time. Or as others have said, it can be a bargaining chip for "forgiveness".

I remember when most movies were 90 minutes long. I don't think I could sit still for a 2 1/2 hour movie.

if my wife watches those movies on tv, i take a little nap. we reserve the theater for loud, action packed movies like transformers and the avengers. now that our daughter is 13, she has a crying partner too...they go and the 4 yr old and i hang out...i'm gonna make her the tomboy since i don't have any sons.

I have satellite tv,. so we can see them in the comfort of our living room with out the other customers ruining the show.

Thanks for the movie review. My wife and I read the book recently since it kept showing up in the top 10. We both thought it was HORRIBLE!!! We had to force ourselves to read it through hoping it would get better. The ending was a set-up for a sequel.

We both realized there was not a single character in the book we had any empathy for. Awful book.

The only way I REALLY lost 2 1/2 hours.......

The only way I REALLY lost 2 1/2 hours was watching "The Piano". Not "The Pianist". "The Piano". I generally can watch chick flicks to do something with my wife and I even watch 'Once Upon A Time" with her because she enjoys it so much and doesn't get much chance to do what she wants to.

"The Piano" is about a mail order bride coming to Australia who is mute because she was 'victimized' in some vague way. She brings her piano but her husband leaves it on the beach. This other guy gets the piano and cuts deal with her, sex for the piano. She has to 'pay' the guy for each key of the piano. 88 times. Of course this woman, being the 'victim', is the heroine of the story.

Women love this movie and when I hear the title I run the other way. FAST!

Never read the book.
My idea of a "suspense" film is that there will be some gun-play, and most importantly justification or
due dire results.
This was a twinky, the (insert vulgar feminine term here) gets away and.... well, you'll just have to see it.
Afflected. Sad, I'm trying to catch-up with the good stuff
I missed. Isn't that always the way?
