Got in on the last PSA $299 promo. Had the Ergo grip, red dot and riser lying around. Picked up the Magpul VFG to set it up like my 2 ARs. The first thing I noticed was that the self-contained bolt/recoil spring system is slick! Should make cleaning a breeze. Probably wait until the Black Friday sales to upgrade the red dot/riser to something smaller and lighter.

Took it to the range this morning. The sights required little adjustment. Then I sighted in the red dot. Put about 150 rounds of Mini mags and 50 rounds of Winchester bulk. Ran flawless. :D

Been browsing this forum this week. Picked up some good info, as well as seeing pics of some really tricked out 15-22s.;)

Welcome to your new addiction

Greetings from the UK :) Welcome to the forum, the guys and gals on here are great and really helpful.
The 15-22 is a fantastic rifle, a bit of an enigma (but that's what we love about it) once you get the right ammo you can really get some great groupings. Then, once you got the ammo right, you can really go to town on the mods, accessories and upgrades :)
You are right that some of the pics on here showing some really 'pimped' out rifles and the money that gets spent on them, that kinda shows you how proud and in love we all are with our 15-22's.
Stay safe and have fun :)

Thanks GM,

It does seem to be pretty accurate for what it is. Probably not as accurate as my Savage FV-SR, but at least as accurate(if not more) as my basic 10/22. I'm planning on taking my grandniece to the outdoor range for the first time next week. If time permits, I might slap a scope on it and try some of my CCI SV. I found a shorter and lighter riser for the red dot;

I'm also a new owner, however I missed the sale on the version with the threaded barrel and had to settle with the non-threaded version. Missing out on it didn't cause me too much heartache as a college student without much cash, which is why I decided to get a .22 rifle in the first place. I've been patiently waiting on Palmetto State to call me so I can go pick my rifle up from one of their stores. One of the perks of being a local I suppose!

If the non threaded barrel is a concern you can buy an adapter from Tacticool22 for $30.

And a warm

from "wild and wonderful " West Virginia at least that's what they tell us.

I wasn't too concerned about it, but it is nice to know that there are adapters available. I think one of the things I like most about the rifle is just how customizable it is. Thanks for the welcome! This place has certainly been a wealth of knowledge for a new owner.
