I just now purchased a 442 with no internal lock (150544) from Buds Gun Shop.

What's the story on these no lock 442s? Are they a limited production run, or will Smith & Wesson continue to make these?

$446 which I think is a pretty reasonable price.

As I mentioned on another thread after looking for over a year for a No lock I found and bought a NO lock 442 and No lock 642within days of each other.

It could be a special run or it could be Smith has come to its senses and is responding to customer demand. However, I am happy I have mine just in case it is a special run.

In the Classics series, the model 40 is available without an internal lock. I suppose S&W figured that with a grip safety, the lock is unnecessary.

I found a pawn shop that will transfer the weapon for free. I'm excited. $446 total is a good deal.

Will post pics :D
