Finally got me a 442. Haven't shot it yet but I'll take care of that this weekend. I do like the moon clips - work very nice. I added the Altamont rosewood to dress it up like my 36 classic. Tax and all $431 otd. I hope it's as good as everyone says it is. My lgs only got two in and I jumped on it. Btw fit and finish are superb. Sorry for the crappy photo though.

You need to visit TK and get some accessories.

J Frame California Competition Works Moon Clip Carriers.

Also a few additional Moon Clips
Welcome to TK Custom.com & Moonclips.com

Next a Lobo Pancake Holster with Detail Boning, and Inner Hammer Shield.

I have had mine for two or three months. I really like it. I picked up 2 Moon Clip Carriers from TK for it. TK is the only source I have found for them. They are working great so far. I Carry my 442 Pro Moonclip at 4 O'Clock, and the Moon Clip Carriers infront of the holster.
I have been carrying a Quick Strip with 5 shotshells in my pocket also. Snake Relief.
I added a set of Hogue Checkered Walnut Bantam Grips to mine. That really dressed it up. I am carrying in a Lobo Model 1 Pancake with Added Inner Hammer Shield, and Detail Boned.
The only way the 442 Pro Moonclip could be any better would be to have a factory XS 24/7 Tritium Front Sight. That would be perfect. The sight would be worth $100 extra to me.
The only place I have seen the 442 Pro Moonclip listed is at Bud's.

I have been finger loading my clips with no issues. You do need a Piece of 1/2" conduit or 1/2" copper pipe to carefully remove the shells from the clips.
Next BRASS. Not all 38 Special Brass is the same. The .025 thick moon clips like Remington, Federal, Mag Tec, Speer, Hornady and other brands. They do not work with Winchester which has a small groove where the moonclip snaps on at.
All brands of 38 Special will work loaded without the moonclips. When using the clips make sure the brass is compatable with them. If you try to force them in brass that has to small a groove, you can bend the clips.

The 442 Pro Moonclip fits right in with my 610, 310 Night Guard, 3" 625, and my Clark Converted 686 Power Custom Combat. Did I mention I like Moonclips?

Enjoy

Bob

The Inner Hammer Shield is a little extra Leather left on the top body side of the holster in the hammer cylinder area to help keep your shirt tail out of the holster when reholstering. It also helps to keep your shirt clean when reholstering a dirty revolver. It is a $5 option that I have on all 8 of my Lobo Pancake holsters.
