"New" 686 at last...

Now, what about something in 4"? Any recommendations? Another 686? I don't know why I am liking revolvers so darn much.

I really like the Stainless Steel guns, not into the blued guns so much.
...if you like your 6 incha nd stainless it would be hard to go past the 4 inch 686... now if you find a 4 inch CS-1 you would be in heaven.

Trip to the workshop today saw the "pimp" getting blasted right off of it... did a bit of work on the trigger, not there yet but MUCH better than it was ... :)

Alone ...

And with it's "Little Brother" ....

It will probably get in to have the front sight changed out later this week all being well...!!

Andy :)

Andy,
Looks good. You have good taste. If you have a line on Millet sights down your neck of the woods, please drop us a PM.

Cheers,

Aussie D

Your smith did a nice job on the front sight. All the ones I have seen are forged with the barrel, so he had to do some good mill work to install it. I prefer the Patridge sight on the longer barrels too.

....I have not seen a set for sale in ages mate. The set on this one I bought by mistake about 10 years ago and was just too lazy to return them...glad I didn't now ..!!

Rear sight is a Millet and the front is a S&W genuine part fitted here by the Aussie S&W agent. He does nice work no doubt at all.

I like the four and six inch the best myself. But I would get the four inch changed to match the six inch on the front sight. Better sight system and you can always change them if you want. Get some HBWC and load them and drive tacks.

I would trade the 6 before the 4 but that is sentimental more than anything. I am a big fan of S&W revolvers but I think the L Frame is my favourite.

Andy

Having large hands. the only thing I needed changed were the stock grips.

Very nice 686 mate... I really like the looks of the grey laminated grips. I need to find a set out here to try them "in hand" ..!!

Andy

Thank you Andy. They are Badger grips if you're looking. The grasp is strong and very "comfortable" (hope that's the right word) to hold. (Grips 4 Guns .com)
