new 686 grips different.

Handled a new 686 the other day and the grips feel slimmer, more comfortable than the Hogues on my earlier guns. Any one know if these are available ? Checked Smiths site they don't specify any difference.

That's because they new guns are round butt and not square butt. It results in a slightly slimmer grip.

S&w just recently changed the style of rubber grips on the new 686s

From my experience looking around and on the website, the recent new models all have a grip change. The rubber they're using now is a little slick than used to be - the grippier hogues. They appear a bit shinier too. For me...I like both but I do like the newer rubber on my carry guns as they don't on clothing as much as the previous ones.
