I just saw the new Bodyguard 380 in stock online in one of the LGS's in my area. They are asking $379.99. Just wondering how you guys feel about the price?

I tried a BG once. With that trigger you couldn't give me one. I bought a Taurus TCP 380. $200 out the door. Smoothest trigger pull I've ever felt. The slide locks back on the last round also. Had it 2 years with no problems other than ammo/dirty gun related problems.

We just received LE/Military/1st Responder program M&P-380s

We are selling them for $299/ea to qualified individuals.

I just got an online notification the new MP 380 was in stock. I went to Davidsons's site signed on. There were 61 available. I hit the process button to see the price and it came at $329.00 plus tax, etc. I then went back to the main site and all 61 were gone. I guess they are going to be a hot item.

bet they listed them as available prematurely

My father-in-law bought one at our LGS for $349 out the door. Got to shoot it this past weekend. We both liked it a lot. Very little recoil for such a small/light gun. Trigger pull is a little heavy, but IMHO you want that in something you are going to pocket carry. YMMV

So tempting

I'm tempted too, only because it's a smaller relative of my beloved Shield. Wonder I've they've improved the trigger any? Would LIKE to buy one, but seems like there's more reasons not to right now, for me anyway. Am I REALLY going to start carrying 2 guns? Probably not. It might be nice for pocket carry in the summer, but it's a step down from 9mm to .380. And it bugs me that .380 ammo costs more than 9mm. I like the idea of having one, but I have the feeling I wouldn't carry it that much or shoot it that much. If a person is actively shopping for a pocket BUG, though, I don't think you'd be going too far wrong with this at $319.

Well I got a TCP 380 for pocket carry and maybe my wifes purse but it kicks like a mule.
If this is a little more refined she may like it better then the TCP.
So I may roll the dice

got new M&P BG 380

mini review/first impression:

I went to pick up a Ruger LCP at the LGS yesterday, and they had 7 or 8 new M&P BG 380's available on the shelf. Spent a little time handling both of the handguns. Laying side by side on the counter, LCP seems smaller, but putting them one on top of the other show them almost identical in size. BG has a bit longer grip by about 1/3 in (BG had a pinky extension mag, LCP did not).
So I got SW M&P Bodyguard 380 for the following reasons:
Price - BG380 was $320 +tax. That was $20 more than LCP. However BG comes with 2 magazines, whereas Ruger includes only one (additional mag for LCP is $30 + tax or shipping).
Weight - I know that BG is 2-3 oz. heavier, but I didn't really noticed much of a difference. Well, maybe just a bit.
Grip - BG380 has a wider grip which made me hold the pistol a little more securely. Not that I had any problems with LCP, but was planning to add Hogue Handall Grip Sleeve (additional $10). Only 2 finger on the grip with either handgun, my pinky in hanging under. I have about medium size hands, not very large at all.
Sights - we all know BG has better sights. I will still probably need to paint the front one with something (nail polish?) for better visibility, though.
Trigger - it's long, no surprises there. Dry firing in the store (yes, I asked permission) was comfortable for me about equally with either gun.
Other things:
- S&W uses stainless steel guide rod, Ruger includes plastic (polymer?) one. Small thing, but nice to have metal in the gun.
-Slide locks open on the last shot or empty mag on BG. Very nice, like it very much.

Looking, researching on the internet, and comparing these 2 handguns for some time now, I actually liked the shape and a bit smaller frame of Ruger LCP. Was about ready to purchase it and most likely would if it was the only gun of these two available. But switched and have chosen new Smith instead. The last deciding factor for me was its similarity of features/controls with my 9mm Shield. I'm not opposed to side safeties, even though I'm not yet sure if I'm going to use them or not. BG380 is intended for a front pocket carry, and my Shield is in IWB kydex holster at 4-4:30 position, one or the other depending on a dress day and destination.
Will try to hit the range next weekend, and hope my new "mouse" gun won't disappoint.

Ugh
I waited till lunch at work to pull the trigger
Sportsmans is out of them now
I knew I should have done it before I left for work

New M&P BG380 also just became available at kygunco.com - check there.
Good luck!

Great little gun. I just got mine today. Hope to shoot it this weekend.
