A while ago I posted on this thread about this new model: https://smith-wessonforum.com/firearms-knives-other-brands-general-gun-topics/737669-new-sig-sauer-p210-carry-model.html

It's a new Lipsey's run in a duo tone configuration. The specifications on Lipsey's website and everywhere else state steel frame for this one and this made me curious (did not really expecting that to be true, knowing that the P210A Carry was always Aluminum frame)

I got one and indeed the frame is some non-ferrous metal alloy, looks same Aluminum frame like is on my Custom Center P210A Carry shown in these photos. The frame feels beefy and very strong. There is a perfect frame to slide fit, same as the Custom Center has. Both have upgraded recoil spring assemblies over the P210A Target. This new duo tone one has something new: a square cut in the barrel hood to serve as a loaded chamber indicator (no, it's not a state compliant model)

Very nice night sights, very smooth operation, like the Custom Center has. Both appear really well built. Despite not being steel frame, I do like my new duo tone and also it pairs quite nicely with my other P210A Carry.

Just wondering if Sig stiffened up the trigger on their carry models? The targets trigger might be considered quite lite for a carry piece.
thanks

I have a p210 carry custom as well. I like the new two tone and am wondering if the slide is brushed stainless steel or if is painted with a silver finish? Seems like brushed stainless would be better on a carry pistol. Thanks!

Model 15-ever, thanks! They did not come with any test targets. None of the American made P210s come with test targets I believe.

Zeke, these two Carry of mine do indeed seem to have slightly heavier SA triggers than my P210A Target. Sorry I do not have a trigger gauge to measure.

kas9412, looks like matte stainless to me but I am not sure. The kind that when worn becomes polished.

Hey Zeke,

The trigger on my p210 carry custom is between 4 and 4.5 lbs while the trigger on my p210A target is between 2.75 and 3.25 lbs. So yes, the carry model has a little heavier trigger.

WardenRoss, I did not notice a way to adjust them, but I like how they are right now, don't see room for improvement for me.

Thank You, it be appreciated! Forgot to ask is the carry trigger still 2 stage? My 210a has a 2 stage with extremely light final break, and the target grips got changed out for newer slimmer/shorter versions.

Yes, the triggers are all two-stage. As far as trigger weight is concerned, I think they are adjustable, but I believe the adjustment is very small. In any case, I think both triggers are excellent out of the box, so I have not been interested in adjusting them.

Might have to buy that two tone; I was not enthralled with the engraved-slide carry version, but I got a great deal on it, so I bought it. Had I known the two tone was coming, I would have waited!

I have one of these. The slide on all p210s is stainless and Black Nitron coated on all except this one which is left “in the white” as it is called when no finish is applied. The only other exception is the Custom Carry with its mirror black finish. The frames of the three Carry models are aluminum, and Black Nitron coated stainless on the Target and Standard models.
Oddly the one model I’m missing (so far) is the standard Carry.
I own 4 fairly new P210s. They are phenomenally accurate and reliable.
I removed the target sights from the Target model and mounted a red dot sight from Vortex using an adapter plate from Armory Craft. I also added Hogue G10 grips to it as I found the big original grips too bulky for use in steel challenge matches.
I will post pix and trigger pull weights next week.

I picked up the Carry Two Tone today. Beautiful piece. Already put 100 rounds through it after initial inspection, cleaning and lube. The controls appear to be stainless as is the slide. The stainless parts look like they are lightly bead blasted rather than brushed or polished. The controls are not the same color as the slide but everything looks great. See photos. Also, the frame is aluminum.

Trigger pull info:
All four have nearly identical trigger characteristics; the initial take-up is 2.5 mm, only the Target model has a barely perceptible amount of creep and all four have an amazingly crisp break without noticeable overtravel.
Pull weights:
Target-3lbs 3oz
Standard-3lbs 5oz
Custom Carry-3lbs 10oz
Carry two tone-4lbs 0oz

The Standard and the Two Tone are my favorites for trigger feel.

Other factors:
The Standard has the smoothest slide operation and is very slick.
The Target has similar slide operational smoothness and I like the forward serrations.
The Custom Carry is an absolute bear to hold onto while cycling the slide. I see nothing wrong but the spring pressure is very high.
The Two Tone is Goldilocks. It is perfect and although it has the highest trigger pull weight, the break is so crisp and consistent it defies description.
I don’t say that lightly since I have a dozen 1911’s that I have lovingly tuned to 3.5 to 4.5 lb triggers and only 3 come close to the perfection of these P210’s. The 1911’s are getting lonely in my safe these days.

I posted in "the other" thread that Bud's has a good price on the Two Tone right now. Had to have one. But I'm going to replace the G10 grips with wood from Houge. Indications are that steel and alloy frames are physically different, so different grip SKU's. I had assumed the frames were the same but different materials. Evidently that's not so. Anybody know for sure?

To my first point though. If you're interested in getting a Two Tone, check out Bud's for a good price.
