I bought these Eagle Heritage (similar to 'Cokes') grips for my 657-3 because I really didn't like the grips that were on it. Can some one tell me whether the other grips pictured would have been original to this gun? I'm guessing they are Altamonts but I'm not really sure. Thanks.

Yes. They are Altimonts..........And they are terrible. Did the same with my 24-6. trashed the altimonts and replaced them with Eagle heritage "cokes..........Much better grips.......that Altimont style must have been designed by a VIDEO GAME player instead of a shooter.

Mike SC Hunter, YOU JUST CRACKED ME UP ! ! ! PERSONALLY I NEVER UNDERSTOOD THE FASCINATION WITH ALTAMONTS. I HAVE NEVER OWNED A PAIR, AND I DIDN'T LIKE THE FEEL OF THEM ON THE COUPLE OF GUNS THAT I HAVE SHOT WITH THEM THROUGH THE YEARS. EAGLE MAKES QUALITY GRIP. THE ONES ON geenmachines CLASSIC HUNTER LOOK GREAT. I ESPECIALLY LIKE THEIR SAMBAR STAGS. HERES A PAIR OF MY 629s WEARING THEM. THE LONG GUN IS A CLASSIC HUNTER ALSO…………...
