New Grips for the CS9

Congrats on the TercGen grips! The grey looks good on the stainless gun.

The grips really improve an already oustanding little 9mm carry gun. Here is mine. I wore it to Church and brunch afterwards. Couldn't tell I was carrying a gun. Regards 18DAI

Thanks TTSH and 18DAI! I also like the look of the grey grips on a stainless CS9, especially the early versions with all stainless controls. In theory, they would also be less visible than the black grips under a thin white t-shirt in the Summertime... but mainly I like the way they look. :)

Guess I have to join the TercGen fan club. Just installed his grips on my CS9. As much as I love my CS9, Love it a little bit more now.

Thanks Rcdyna, glad that you like them and I do agree the grips make a difference in hand. The CS9 feels much better with them, and the CS45 is a huge improvement with the slimmer grips!

Now I'm off to start on some grips for NMPinNYC... :)

Wow. This brings back memories from 20+ years ago. Besides making the grips, I also rounded the slide like a 1911 and shortened a magazine, using a 4506 baseplate. Note that the pics were taken with a one of the first digital cameras, like 1 megapixel or something.

And you converted it to DAO!

Yea, they didn't make the D version until a couple of years later. I originally converted it to DAO and shaved the safety down flat, so it couldn't be accidentally activated. When the TSW models came out, I replaced the safety with a factory plug.

Dear TercGen,
I have been looking for grips for my cs9 for momths and just came accross this forum. Is there any chance I can commission you to make me a pair? Like everyone else, I love my CS9 except for the grips.

Thank you rdclaeps, and glad that you like the grips. Your CS9 looks good with them, and good doing business with you Sir!:D
Good morning and great work!
Do you still do these custom grips? I just bought a blued CS9 yesterday and was thinking it would look/feel great with your grips. I also have a CS40 that is a dream to shoot.

Got some new grips for the CS9. A big thank you to TercGen, grips look great and fit like a glove.

Very nice looking grips you've got from TercGen. Your CS9 looks new and fresh.

I have the excellent TercGen grips on all my CS carry guns. Fine product from a fine young man. Buy with confidence.

I Emailed TercGen over a month ago and have not heard back. Thats unusual.

Has anyone heard from him recently? Heres hoping he is doing well and just busy. Regards 18DAI

I had TercGen convert a 3906 (curved) grip for my CS9 & he did a good job on it.

My only negative on them is they have a definite squared corner & if you AIWB carry with only shirt that square corner seems to be harder to hide than the more rounded corner of the factory Hogue grips & they're more apt to poke you if you bend over forward.

I added Trijicon SA29 Night Sights & Kahr magazine base plate assemblies to mine.

Who can help me with remove/replace instructions for Tercgen grips please? I just acquired a CS9 and dug out a set I was saving for just such a situation, but don't have the instructions at hand and I forget how to remove/install. TIA to anyone who can help. V/R, Nick.

This is what TercGen sent me when he mailed mine. Mine were made from 3906 grips but I'm sure his instructions are no different for ones made from 3913 grips.

Nothing personal in it so I don't see any reason it can't be shared:

"Included are the grips, modified mainspring adapter, and a black grip pin (inside of the grips). The modified mainspring adapter replaces the one underneath your Hogue factory grips, then the Delrin grips slide over that. As I mentioned earlier, the top portion of these grips are extremely tight, so take your time and at points you may need to slightly lift the left side of the grips to clear the tight spots and the sideplate assembly. Also, be sure that the front tabs engage the frame.

When installing the grip pin, I recommend putting a little oil/grease on it, as it has a lot of real estate to get through. Place the pin through the grip hole and into the grip frame (visually check from the bottom), then gently tap it most of the way in with a small plastic hammer. The last 1/8" or so will be a little harder, and I recommend using a 1/8" brass punch with firm taps to get it through. When the grip pin is equally indented on both sides, you are finished!"

Looks like the same instructions I got for my 457 curved back grips he made for me:)

Who can help me with remove/replace instructions for Tercgen grips please?

Here are pictures of the S&W "comic book" instructions because for some of us it's easier to see than just read.

Just be careful not to bend the side plate assembly when putting the grip on.
