So yesterday I was at a local gun shop and asked to look at a new M&P Shield in 9mm that I saw under the counter. I wasn't planning to buy another gun. But the store manager obliged and handed me the Shield. It was such a sweet little gun. Fit my hand well. It's not the "Performance" model, just the regular 9mm. I loved it. So after filling out all the paperwork for Fed and State, I don't live in a free state, and paying, I left with this new gun. I absolutely love it for conceal carry and hope to hit the range later this week.

I have had my Shield for about 2 years (in 40) and love the way it shoots and also feels in the hand. The only mod I made was to put some "straight 8's) for sight pic which I believe helped my old eyes. As noted it's a great carry pistol be it either IWB or OWB.

I love the shield. Have been carrying Sig 938 for a couple of years. Bought my wife a Shield last Christmas and fell in love. Though it is a little bigger than the Sig i think it is the perfect size for conceal ability / shoot ability balance. I bought my own last week and ordered Apex trigger kit and Trijicon HD sights. Same setup as on my MP40 C and they make for an amazing combo. Now the question is do I sell the Sig?

Where did you get your sights and Apex trigger from? I'm thinking of the same upgrades. I used to carry a Sig P226.

Congrats on the shield and welcome. You'll love the shield. Mine has been flawless so far.I bought mine with the trijicon night sights and they are nice.

Shield is an excellent pistol. Have had mine for over two years and no problems. Put a Pachmayr Grip Glove on the grip to give it a little more palm swell as I was used to carrying a Glock 23 during work before I retired. The single stack Shield grip felt a little narrow to me and the grip glove solved that. I also prefer the 8rd magazine for better grip. See picture.

Welcome. You are on your way. Don't forget the mag loader and the grip extender. I also put a tube sock on mine and that works well as well.

Congratulations on your new Shield!

I have to agree with what others have already said: I love my Shield--in over 5,800 rounds it has proven to be for me, the most reliable, accurate and fun to shoot 9mm pistol in its class.
