New M&P9c. Break-in ammo?

Should be recieving it this week. Is there any certian ammo I should start out with or stay away from? I ask this because when I got my m&p 15-22 , consensus was to run 100 rounds of cci mini mag first. I did that and now can run almost anything through it.

Any 115 grain Remington, Blazer, Winchester, or for that matter any American ammunition manufacturer but no steel like TulAmmo, also any 124 grain would do depending on price! I have shot all grains with no real noticeable difference but your mileage may vary due to experience with this weapon, mine is excellent!

I've run WWB, Federal, Winchester Ranger and S&B through my 9c with no issues/failures.

They can be picky eaters at first. Don't over buy any one brand and try as many as you can. After around 500+ rounds you'll know what it likes best and hates. You will also have the weapon well on it's way to getting broke in and know if you want to "upgrade" anything. Don't just willey-nilley start adding upgrades. You might find out you like it just the way it is. Mark your mags so you'll know if it's an ammo problem or a bad mag. Rare but it does happen. Also clean it before you go out shooting and "get to know it". Not right away and after a few (50+) rounds,blast away under your oun saftey and comfort feel. Little babying at first to get the feel of it,then let em' rip at your comfort level. They are built to take it. Safe shooting.

I don't have any M&P 9's but my .40s like whatever is cheapest, this way they get to spit more lead, I've yet to have any issues. I'm thoroughly impressed with the M&P!

Making an ammo decision depends on how you intend on using your weapon. In my case, my M&P40c is used as my EDC. I was advised, from a legal perspective, to always use what local law enforcement uses (to avoid the claim I was using inappropriate ammo). I thought that was good advice. Therefore, for personal protection, I use Speer Gold Dot Hollow Point (GDHP), 180 grain (same as Las Vegas Metro). For target practice I use Speer's Lawman (TMJ, 180 grain).

My wife prefers 9mm. For her, I bought Speer GDHP 9mm 124 grain and the Lawman version for target practice.

We purchase ammo via the internet. Prices are good and delivery is 3 days max.

I have run American Eagle 115 with no issues. The REM UMC 115s seem to jam the gun though. WWB 115, no issues and they seem to have more "snap". Going to run a box of Federal 115s this week. I was at a handgun class and all I had were UMCs. The gun jammed on UMCs. The instructor let me borrow his Sig... which ate the UMCs. A bit embarassed and will never use the UMCs again.

I have found that my M&P 9 will eat anything I give it. It's probably wise to initially shoot some better-quality stuff through it during the break-in, but I think you will find that it will even do fine with the cheap Monarch once it's broken-in.
