Hi all, I am Jeff, from Washington state. love my stainless Smith revolvers. Latest find is a 52-2. My holy grail. Also, love Savage 99's. I fix cars to pay the bills.
Very impressed with all the knowledge information here.

Welcome to Big Blue! Best gun forum on the 'net, IMO.

Tell us more about that 52-2, and be sure to include some pictures. We LIKE pictures.

I took my bargain-basement 52-2 to the range for the very first time yesterday. Here's a link to the thread that explains why I call it my "bargain basement 52-2" Model 52 sights

Below is my target - first 10 shots (2 magazines) at 10 yards. Using Precision Delta PDP Pro 148gr wadcutters (the only factory wadcutters I could find anywhere in town). 5 of 10 in the black, 9 of 10 inside the 8 ring and all 10 inside the 7 ring. Maybe not great, but not too bad either, IMO - considering the work I had to do just to get a set of functional iron sights. BTW this target was shot with NO adjustments to the sights after initial installation and bore-sighting.

I would like to have shot a couple of more targets, but unfortunately the range where I was shooting prohibits shooting ANY bare-lead rounds other than 22LR. I only found out about that AFTER we got there, so I felt like I was kinda' sticking my neck out and breaking the rules to shoot even these 10 rounds.

I have a couple of hundred copper-plated 148gr Xtreme DEWCs that I need to load up for future indoor range sessions.

So let's see some pics of yours and a target or two once you get the chance...
