New Performance Center M&P w/ Ported Barrel

volley6man

First welcome to the forum from Nebraska and yes. Christmas is coming and a APEX Trigger Kit is much better than a lump of Coal.

forgive me for asking this question due to not seeing this CORE. but how's it ported when the barrel and slide are 2 different parts?

GREAT timing for this info... I was just getting ready to buy the CORE in 40 cal. Bkreutz, you mentioned about the MagnaPorting being at 45 degrees vs. straight up, but in the pictures on the S&W PC site, it looks like the ports are coming out of the beveled part of the slide at an angle.
Have you seen one in person where you can tell exactly what angle the ports are in this model? Thanks in advance for any info before I pull the trigger on this one!

I've only seen them in pictures. In the ones I saw it appeared that they came out on top but I've seen more detailed pictures where the appear to come out at an angle (like magnaport).

Just ordered a 4.25 M&P 40 Performance center

Sounds cool, but I'd rather they put their efforts into a really nice comp trigger, lighter spring for faster recoil, and high quality barrels.

Waiting for range report. Most importantly, does it make any difference?

Almost no muzzle flip and recoil was lighter than my Walther P99 9mm. Feels great in hand and with the trigger stop properly set you can roll shots off very smoothly. Don't hear or feel the reset but after a few rounds, it is very short.

My performance center comes with a performance 4.5 pound sear but i am still swapping for apex 3lb

Just picked mine up today....after 100 or so rounds ....its sweet out of the box but the apex competition kit w trigger is going in this week.....

Pretty cool.

Is there any evidence any of these doo dads translate into better accuracy or tighter groups?

I mean, if it makes me shoot like Miculek, I'm selling the car and buying one tomorrow. :D

It's the Indian not the arrow.

They are not so much for groups....more for crisp clean fast target acquisition. ... but like ca said....the indian has to know what hes doing

Just picked on up yesterday. I got the 5" 9mm model. Only paid 729 (no tax weekend) and able to pick up the 2 mag deal :) Also wondering about the trigger in this model? Is it an upgrade from the Standard MP9? I'm very new to M&P's so I'm excited to start learning.

The dealer told me these Perf Center had Apex triggers in them. I find that very hard to believe. Again I'm very new to these models.

They have performance center sears not apex.....i still put apex in mine....it is a step up but still not right..... enjoy your new 9mm

Thank you tattooo. Good information. Do you guys know what the L model is on the Performance Center models. Mine has 9L.
