Hi, I have had a 627 pro and a 627PC both are sweet guns. I have not seen the standard 4" barrel 627. The only peoblem with the 8 shot cylinder is that no one makes a good speedloader system for it yet.

Aussie, I have one on the way. I should get it by Wed. or Thur. It is the Standard version.

Don't they have moon clips for them? Best speed-loader there is, imvho.

I saw one on Gun Broker with some good pics...looks like nice revolver and appears to have a heavier than usual barrel...heavier than the older 27s anyway.I think i need one.

rjrivero,
The standard 4" barrel 627 does not take moon clips. The only ones that accept moon clips are the 627PC and 627-PRO..
By speedloaders I mean HKS and safariland do not make them yet...

I bought one recently and am very pleased so far; it's very well-balanced - more so than I would have thought given the heavy barrel.

Haven't shot it yet (as it's in the 10-day waiting period purgatory presently) but will do so next weekend.

I agree that it's a natural evolution. It's no "Highway Patrolman" but then again, it's stainless, it's not a PC-gun, and it holds 8 rounds.

But sending the cylinder off to a pistolsmith to be machined is simple enough.
