Purchased a .40 shield about a week or so ago. I love it and have around 200-300 rounds without a single problem. One downside is the stiffness of the mag springs. When at the range I can barely get them loaded. Is there a good speed loader that fits the shield magazine? Any recommendations would be appreciated.

Uplula magazine speed loader. Great for those long range session. It's a must have in your range bag.

it is a good reloader. best $30 i`ve spent lately for shooting. they keep them in the LGS i go to. had a HK mag loader. drilled a few holes, tapped them. can reload the 7 rd. and 6 rd. mags. just an extra to have. take out the bolts. and it again can be used on other mags.

The other good thing about the Uplula is it works with all my guns, 9mm, 40 S&W, an 45acp. It makes loading easier and much faster (speed loader).

Another vote for the Uplula (silly name for a fantastic product!) I have two of them...one for my desk, one for my range bag.

I warn you...they are addictive. Once you use one, you will never want to load a magazine by hand again. They are fast and easy.

Funny you mention difficulty loading, the first day I shot my Shield my fingers were killing me from loading. Either I got used to it or the springs loosened up a bit because I can load them relatively easy now.

At first I had problems pulling back the slide, it just felt stiff and like it wasn't going back far enough but that loosened up and/or I've learned you don't need to pull it back that far. Same with dis-assembly and re-assembly which you will get used to after putting 2-300 rounds though it.

Enjoy.
