Just sold my SD40 VE and got an M&P 40c. I haven't shot it yet but damn it does the gun for well in your hand, and it feels awesome. I can't wait to shoot it

I did the exact same thing. I love the compact. Also picking up a shield fpr the real hot summer days. Have fun!

Me as well...SD to MP40c. And SD9VE to MP9c for my girl.
Wago, after putting 4 to 500 down range with the pistol bone stock, pick up the DCAEK kit from Apex. The machined sear makes the single biggest difference, but the spring kit and USB round out the package nicely.

A little easier pull, MUCH nicer break and reset.

I was looking into it, it's around $90 if I remember correctly. I will look into it later. I was thinking of keeping the stock MA 10.5 trigger pull for a while just so I can get used to a heavier trigger. If you can get good with a heavy trigger, you can pretty much be unstoppable with a lighter one.

10.5#. Holy Schnikes...
Paid 83 via amazon prime...
Yeah, you shoot solid patterns with that, you'll be the man with a sub 6# trigger. I don't think I'd be able to shoot this small of a gun with that high of a trigger like I shoot mine now. Wowser.

Not always true. Sometimes becoming familiar with the heavy trigger can interfere with the shooters ability to operate a lighter trigger.

I've seen it a lot in shotguns. The shooter becomes so familiar with the heavy trigger, they can't make their move toward the target without tripping the trigger because they are used to having more pressure on the trigger.

I'm not saying it's not a good idea to use your pistol as it came. Just be aware of some potential difficulties of switching from one trigger weight to another.

your gonna love it, I have one ( my first gun ever) & realy enjoy practicing with it once a week, nice to carry also

You will, like everyone else has said love it. Picked up the 40 cal shield to keep it company. Dont have to worry wether or not it will go BANG every time. Congrats and happy shooting. Also look into the PJ IWB holster for it or any gun you want to carry:D

Congrats, I think you will like it.

A 10.5lb trigger requirement would leave me wanting to do something about that, but understand those are the rules to live by there.

Mine has run good and is all stock so far. I put an apex usb on my 9c, but the 40c I got later didn't seem to need one as much as that 9c did.

B3500....the machined sear made all the difference for me.
@Wago, is it true you have to buy the firearm with the 10.5# trigger, but once the gun is yours, you can modify it how you see fit?

Thought I read that somewheres....

That is correct. Any firearms dealer in mass selling a new weapon has to sell it with a 10.5+ pound trigger on it. Once you have possession of it, you can literally hand it back to the dealer if they have a gun smith in site and have a better trigger. My SD40VE that I sold has the Calloway Precision spring kit that lowers it 5lbs. I will get the trigger lowered but I can't right now cause of $$$ and I'm trying to save to move to Florida as well.

I got my M&P 40c about a month ago. I also live in MA. I installed the Apex DCAEK kit in it before I even took it to the range.
I could tell just from dry firing it, I had to do something. It was terrible.

I ended up buying the kit from grabagun for $76 and installed it myself.
Since I had to take the rear sight off for the Apex kit I also installed a set of Ameriglo pro idot sights on it.

I love the gun now. I have about 400 rounds through it and only had 2 failure to feeds. I found out the failure to feed issue was with just one magazine and it was because the base plate wasn't on correctly.
I haven't had the problem since I put it on right.

I'm also in Ma. and have the mp40c. Though i've had it for about five years I just recently put in the DCAEK kit with the Polymer trigger. Feels so much better now but not so light that I would worry about carrying it. It came out at about 5.2 lbs. I was prepared to do the work myself and watched all the videos. Talked to local gunsmith and he said he could do it same day for me to I did. Had him also put on Trijicon sites at same time. Great gun and even better with the work done.
