New to me Lawrence set

Got this off ebay . Seller had a Colt style SA ( too tight ) in it but my Brazilian fits correctly as does my Colt Officers model Target . Holster is marked 211 , 38 over a 6 . Belt marked 35 and 38 . Somebody removed the strap and hardware and added the nickle concho with a screw back . Not bad for less than $200 shipped . Anybody care to take a guess as to when it was made ?

Turnerriver has the 411 on Lawrence dating, in an expert post on this forum; but I'll be darned if I can work out where these expert posts are kept.

The belief is that a holster that fits a Colt SAA is more valuable than one that doesn't and if you can jam one in there it must be right. 38 6 means just what you figured out it means-a medium frame 6" double action revolver. 45 6 indicates a large frame DA revolver and a single action would be indicated by SA or SAA. The Lawrence Steerhide logo was used prior to WW II. The 211 was a top of the line model and yours is in great shape. The belt may well be the same vintage and it could well be a rig ordered together.

WOW, that is a terrific price for a quality rig. It looks to be in really good shape for something 75-80 years old.
