Was at the LGS today and saw a SW9p and a SW9G. Both with original box and all ppwrk. I realize I could have picked up a new Sigma for $300+tax. Always wanted a sigma but just could never pull the trigger (pun intended), the 9P was $240 and the 9G was $299 both plus tax. Made an Impulse buy on the 9P......... did I get a Good deal? Good gun? Good Shooter? Any info would be appreciated...I have a number of Gen 2 and 3 smiths and a few 1911's that I like for the range.

Yes, factory ported with front night sight. I understand it is a gen 2 Sigma.? I just ordered the Apex kit as I live in the Peoples Republic of Massachusetts and the trigger feels every bit as heavy as the 10.5 pounder that came on my Shields. How do the sigmas shoot? Good quality? it certainly looks nice and fits the hand perfect.

And the kit is only going to drop it a couple of pounds. I've used Sigmas as loaners and trainers for over a decade. If you want a light trigger, you bought the wrong gun.

Wasn't looking for a gun with a "light trigger", have plenty of 1911's for that. Was looking for a gun to have some less expensive fun with at the range, always liked the Sigma and didn't own one. If I can take it from the approx. 9lb it is now to 5 3/4-6lb it will do just fine. Jeez, thought this was a Sigma/SD forum to talk about what you have or want and gather input.

This is my first time posting on the Sigma forum. If you have a better suggestion for a trigger or info on this or other Sigma's please share, that is why I started the thread. But to just say "you bought the wrong gun" is short sided at best. Not here to bash Sigma's, there are plenty of places I can go to do that. Looking for information and guidance from a group that I thought owned and were into the SD/Sigma line.

Just trying to let you know that the Sigma design does not lend itself to substantial trigger pull reductions from someone (me) that first bought one in 1995 and has extensively used many of them as trainers and loaners. I have tried every (non-destructive) way known, and it simply does not produce the results that a SD or M&P will get with the APEX kits.
Over the last 10 years, there have been hundreds of posts on this subject. It has been way beyond beaten to death. If you think the Sigma pull can be reduced like your Shield, then you just don't know enough about it.
