Bought a used Sigma SW9VE today at a gun show. So far in my life I have been dedicated to revolvers and SIGS & Beretta plus a Ruger or two. Fired a Glock once and the Sigma trigger puts me in mind of that. Feels kind of "mushy" as opposed to the Sigs and others. First qualified with a Taurus .38 six shooter in 72 or so in the military as base police, and carried a 1911 when deployed in 67-68. Was currently carrying a Kel-Tec P-11 9mm concealed, and probably still will, but the Sigma will be my duty cary. Haven't been to the range with it yet but I'm sure that "soft" trigger may take some getting used to. I'll have to go and report back to you on that. Sounds like a valid reason for going to the range:p

Welcome to the sigma club starpower48!

Be patient with the trigger. Once you master it, you won't even think about it. The gun is under rated because of the trigger. It's really quite accurate and lots of fun to shoot, you'll see.

Post up a report when you get her out!

I find I do best with a "Just Shoot It' style, without trying to guess where it will break, etc. Just line up the sights and squeeze that trigger, one deliberate motion, all the way back. Then, repeat! :D

Excellent, well stated!

The only thing I would add, is: repeat as ofetn as possible!;):)

Welcome & congrats on the purchase! If you don't mind, I'm kind of curious what the used price is these days. If don't care to disclose the purchase price that is fine. I know some don't. Just wandering. Speaking of 9VE, its been 3 weeks since I have feed mine! Poor thing is probably starving!

JJ, I'm tempted to call child protective services! LOL!!!!!! (kidding)

Good to see ya, my friend!

Welcome to the club!
Sigma 9VE AF is the first gun I have owned. I have fired others (XD, 1911, SW99) but the value you get in the Sigma (at the time I purchased) could not be beat. I have gotten looks about it at the range, but as soon as someone actually handles it and fires a couple of rounds through it, they quickly comment on how good it feels and shoots. Of course the trigger is a little heavy, but because of a lack of safety, I don't mind it, and have even gotten used to it...so its a wash.

Cheers,

lol.. leejack you had me going for a second. I had forgot what I had said in my post earlier! I was like "what did I say"! My memory gets shorter daily! I took her out, wiped her down & dry fired her for a bit last night. You know, just some TLC to make up for it! I think she is gonna get some one on one time this week end! Thanks for keeping me straight Lee!;)

LOL! No problem JJ!

But I must confess my sins also: It's been 2 weeks since my sigma has had anything to eat (just don't tell 357 mag; he'll be dissapointed).

She's just lookin pretty, resting comfortably in the nightstand (with a full tummy). It won't be long though; she'll be lightin up the target soon.

I guess I'm not perfect either. LOL!

I don't mind at all, JJ. It was displayed with a $299 price tag on it. I asked if he'd take $250. When he found out I was retired LEO he took the $250 but added $20 to get someone else to ring up the plastic, and I spent another $30 at another table for a 17 rd mag, (brought it to three, 2-16's and the 1 17 rounder) so all told I spent $300. I then modified my old triple retention Sig 229 Safariland holster to fit it and dug out my double mag pouch and I'm good to go.

Nice! Great gun at a great price! Well done! Have you had a chance to take her out for a walk yet?

Not yet. Hopin this week-end. I thought retired meant more time to do me things. Hah! Busier now than when I was workin full time.
