New to Wheel Guns from Nebraska

Greetings! Glad to have been allowed to join this forum. I am an experienced competitive rifle shooter who shoots pistols for enjoyment and self defense. I have never owned a wheel gun but recall with fondness shooting my grandfather's Model 29 with a 6 inch or maybe longer barrel. I was amazed even at my young age at how good the trigger felt and how accurate it was. I feel sort of unexpectedly into a pre-lock ANIB model 686-5 International DX. It is what I always envisioned owning and I couldn't pass up. I will post pics in the right section as I have some questions. I should receive the gun next week and already have a target load planned to break it in! Hope to learn more about Smiths from people in the know as I start my journey down this rabbit hole!

None, and hopefully never will. Perhaps my wording is giving the wrong impression? I mean to say that I practice to maintain proficiency while carrying. I do not compete.
