....
BTW, thought you had to have a license to sell reloaded ammo?
In the very least they are supposed to pay Federal Excise Tax on the manufacture of the ammo they are selling.
The rate for ammo is 11% I believe and payable quarterly to the US Gov'ment.
The only way around not paying it is to segregate a customers empty brass, reload that segregated brass specificly for that person and return it to them only.
Problem is with excise tax is that if the Range gets a strong suggestion from the IRS that they have to start paying it,,the reloads they sell just go up in price by 11%.
The average customer never wins..
Many shotgun ranges have a rule that if the empty hits the ground, it belongs to the club.
I never liked that and never belonged to anyplace that had that rule. Some don't seem to be bothered by it.
Maybe it's their way of showing they care little about the pittance of the value of the emptys.
Many shooters don't reload and really don't care about them.
But Hey Bub,,I reload,,they're mine!!
Even the ratty looking ones have at least one more loading left in them.
I said that the last time I reloaded it too.
I've never been on a rifle or pistol range like that,,but if I found myself on one, I'd never go back.
