Hi everybody, bergeron here and I just joined. I have gone crazy collecting S&W's. I've got a bunch of questions so I thought I would start with this one...I bought a 14-3 yesterday with goodyears and was wondering where would be a good place to find original grips. I'm not having much luck. Thanks

Right here!

This is the place. I've had good fortune securing period stocks from collectors on this blog. A nut on originality I am.

And, welcome aboard. You will enjoy this forum.

Welcome.

I have found the answer to most of my grip, or as S&W referred to them, stocks, problems with member VM right here on the boards.

Are you related to Harrison Bergeron? ;)

Actually, Bergeron is my Mom's maiden name. As far as pictures, I refer to myself as road kill on the information superhighway, so pictures are gonna take some doing.By the way, after reading on here about the book "Standard Catologue of Smith & wesson",I went out and bought it. It's worth every dime. It'll keep me busy for a while doing research. I currently have 9 Smiths and am looking for more.

Welcome to the forum and the addiction. It can get bad. I took off half a day today just to go check some gun and pawn shops for any nice S&Ws even though I did not have the money to buy one. Saw some nice ones but nothing I just had to have, thank goodness.

bergeron7, Welcome. I'm like you, new here, and I haven't figured out yet how to get photos on posts. Also looking for orig grip for 19-2.

Welcome. Beware of the addiction, there is no 12 step withdrawal program. You did good getting "The Book", it will answer most of your questions. There is a "sticky" telling you how to post pictures, but you need to use a photo posting site, such as Photobucket, then just highlight the "IMG" then right click to copy, then go to your post and fight click to Paste.

Once you go through the instructions, and do it it is very quick.

Welcome to the forum. You picked the right forum if you have questions about S&Ws. If you could give us the serial number with the last two or three digits X'ed out someone here might be able to tell you when it was made. From there someone else may be able to tell you what the proper grips would be (cokes, diamonds, or current). Then all that is left is the search for them. This forum is a good place to start, also check Ebay for them. If you are lucky you might be able to find some that are relatively inexpensive. I have had decent luck there. One item was an old Safariland swivel holster (police duty) for a 4" K-frame. I got it for $10 plus shipping. When I got it I was surprised to find it was new in the package. It had never been used. Good luck and happy hunting.
