I was in the local Cabella's today and happened upon this nice old fella. SN is S1304xx puts in mid-50s. I was pretty happy to get it for $650 + tax for a 5-screw. Finish is decent. Stocks are in fair to good shape but do not number to the gun unfortunately. About the only negative is it has a dangerously light single action trigger with push off (not easy push off but it is there). I even stopped by the range on the way home and was pleased with how it groups. I'll add it to the Ultimate HP thread as well. Here it is:

I agree with Dan, at $650 for a 5 screw you did real good!
It amazes me that most the prices on used guns at Cabellas will scare you, but every once and awhile you find a great gun at a good price like you did.
Congrats!

Yeah I check out the gun room every time I'm there and usually it's $1400 used Kimbers and maybe some used modern revolvers at new prices, so I was pleasantly surprised by this one.

Thats a keeper all day long Brad.
For a 5 screw N-frame a very good price.

I got a similar 5 screw HP at Cabela's a few years back, but the condition was not as nice. Oh well, for $400, I grabbed it.

The 1950's vintage, don't come along that often. Nice "snag."
