Guys,

I've got a nickle plated 25-5 on the way, and I've never had a nickle plated S&W before. I got it cheap because it's not in pristine condition. I have read a bit about the polishing ingredients, so I bought some Mothers Mag and Aluminum polishing paste and some microfiber cloth. So, what I am looking for here is the polishing technique you use in polishing your nickle plated revolvers.

You can use the Mothers or Flitz, just don't over do it!

Wax on Wax off Circular motion :)

When polishing bright nickel, less is definitely more.
The less you do the better.

Use a fine polish like Flitz and a microfiber cloth and do no more then you absolutely have to.
ALL metal polishes are abrasive, some more then others.
Each time you use one, you remove a thin layer of the plating. That's what the black stain on the polishing cloth is, removed plating.

Polish with the wrong polish or polish too hard or too often and you'll be surprised when you see something odd and realize you polished down to the steel in a spot.
Trying to polish out any kind of actual scratch and you're going to do serious damage.

Guys,

I am looking for info as to how to polish directionally. As to, say, polish perpendicular to the barrel, around the diameter of the cylinder, etc.
