Hi all, new to the forum here.

Recently picked up an M&P .45 full size and wanted to put on some night sights, but don't even know where to begin looking. Any recommendations or helpful advice about different types/brands of sights would be much appreciated.

Thanks, and looking forward to being part of the forum!

I have Trijicon Bright and Tough on my M&P(s) and am very satisfied with them. IIRC they're SA37(S).

Where do you shoot your 45 at night?

Truglo TFOs are on my Shield....... Awesome sights, day or night

Takes some penetrating oil and patience, but can be put on by the average joe

Trijicon and Meprolight make excellent three dot tritium sights. Each has a website, or you can go to Brownells or Midway. The sights are steel with tritium inserts.

Meprolights are brighter and have a wider white ring around the cell. The rings make the sights useable in all light levels, and against a dark background.

Trijicon HD sights have a large, phosporescent ring around the front cell and no rings around the rear cells, for fast acquisition. The ring continues to glow when you enter a dark room or area from sunlight.

Nobody shoots in the dark, but black sights are very hard to see in dim light or against a dark background, even though you can easily identify the target. I have some of each on all my pistols, and one revolver.
