No guns for the blind?

Being legally blind doesn't absolve them of the same responsibility when discharging a weapon, I see no reason to assume a person with limited sight also has limited intelligence and cannot somehow discern when to fire a weapon in defense and when not to do so.

"Legally blind" isn't "completely blind", and I see no reason such a person should be barred from defending themselves. In "El Dorado" John Wayne purchased a sawed off pistol grip shotgun carried by a guy who coudln't "see so good". I recommend the same solution, a Judge/Governor with .410 PD loads. :)

I see no reason to think a person with limited sight would be any more irresponsible or wanton in their behavior or use of a firearm than anyone else, and would probably be more so as they live with their limitation every day and know what they can and cannot assume about their environment.

The idea a completely blind person would just start shooting is based in the same flawed thinking that anyone else with a gun is going to pull it and start shooting people simply b/c they have a gun. Same argument is used against open carry laws, concealed carry laws, everything else gun related, and it is just as untrue here.

Zatoichi is a well known samurai in history, although blind he had fended off up to 15 attackers without being injured. his weapon was a forged damascus sword hidden in his walking stick which this sworh has been named the nodachi sword.

do not underestimate anyone, being blind doesnt hinder movements or thought and they can and should be able to protect themselves

Grasshopper's master in Kung Fu was a fighting machine with just a stick.

The blind should get special dispensation to carry fully automatic weapons since they can not be expected to hit the target with one or two shots.

you know to up on that ive seen that fully automatic 40mm grenade launcher. for sale at a few outdoor gunshows..you dont really need precision with grenade or the full auto so. the pair should do nicley

Every now and then, I just have to clarify;
A "Nodachi" is a very large katana. It was a field sword nicknamed horse killer.

Zatoichi carried a walking stick that had a straight katana blade concealed within. The modern Japanese sword cane carries that name, Zatoichi.

Carry on.

thanks for clarifying that for me, modern sword companies give little cards with there swords and the shinwa damascus walking stick sword wielded by the notorious blind samurai was one of those...just figured i'd post what it said

Two reasons

I've seen braille instructions at drive up ATM machines.

I've wondered about that. Could be that the companies who make the keypads don't know which will be used for drive up and which will be in lobbies etc for walk up or if drive up is the only machine at a given location you could have a line passenger who conducts their own banking without needing to give someone else their pin code.
I used to go through some drive throughs I reverse so the passenger could conduct the business be in banking or fast food.
