No one knows their neighbors any more

The "town" I live in has a population of about 90 people.
My closest neighbor is about 2 1/2 miles down the road from me.
LE is at best 20-30 minutes away.
I like it. :D

No one knows their neighbors any more.

And that is to everyone's loss. Like many here I am old enough to remember when there was a real sense of community with most neighbors.

I have been in my current and last home 24 years now and the senior member, in more than one way. As we are a Townhome community and often share a common wall we have to get along, which we normally do very well.
The neighbor to my immediate right is a divorced mother, who is polite and quiet. She can be a little bit of an over bower. Yet if that is the worst thing I am doing really well.
Sadly, the lady to my immediate left, went totally Bat Sierra Crazy over a generally unused, but owner reserved parking spot. I am still trying to decide how to work this one out. And, a special thank you to several members who put up my ravings about this, and offered EXCELLENT advise on how to handle this.

We've been in our apartment for fourteen years in July. We took over as managers four years ago. It didn't conflict with our other gig, which is too detailed to talk about here. My only reservation about taking that responsibility was the fact I'd need to deal with all the other tenants. Well, it's turned out great! I like all our tenants and have become friends with most of them. We inherited a couple of problems, but they weeded themselves out.

But I'll single out my neighbors on either side of me. Sondra, on one side, has been here about eight or nine years now. She's 70ish, and just the nicest lady you could ever hope to meet. On the other side are Ryan and Mackenzie, and they've been here almost as long as us. They're late 30's, both hard workers, and I could trust them with anything I own. Ryan (we're on the same page politically) and I have discussed the possibility of a SHTF scenario, and what we would do in the event that happens. Ryan is one of the best hunters I've ever met, and the only person I know that I'd loan a gun. They, both Sondra and Ryan & Mackenzie, are by far the best next-door neighbors I've ever had.
