They are available for about 450 in these parts. I just got a NIB 642-2 for 400. There is also a PC version with I/L that goes for about 520.

Just saw a 442 at lunch in Albuquerque NM for $499 without the lock.

Price is about the same here with or without the lock.

Just bought an M042 off of the forum for $400 shipped with box, docs, tools and considered myself very, very lucky to have done so. Short answer........In my book, yes, the X42 no locks are still in demand

Yep, just ordered a 642 no IL for a friend. Having to wait a little while cuz the dealer says his supplier can't get 'em or keep 'em in stock. Dealer said $435 but maybe cheaper if the supplier gets a bunch in at one time.

IF I could find a 642 excellent cond, with box, tools and dox,
I think $400-$450 would be very fair.

I would certainly do my best to relieve the owner of said item.
