Non-Registered Magnum.

Mike Helms, the guy that sent you the invoice can help with that. Also RM Vivas I'll bet could help. The way it works is you request the information, I think after you get your letter. If nothing is found you don't pay. You will be quoted a price for any available documents.

Terrific shipping destination! Based on the condition of the gun it doesn’t look like the Major used the NRM in any serious combat, but perhaps you can find some provenance on him.

My son found a fair amount of information on the Major. Apparently, he was a chemist working with the Chemical Warfare Service. I posted his findings. 🙂

Received my letter today. It would have gotten here sooner, but the first mailing never arrived. Mike Helms was kind enough to make new copies and resend them. Thanks, Mike!

Pretty much confirmed what Mike Helms had told. More interesting stuff in the next post..

By requesting a Deep Dive (for a fee), they found a couple of correspondence between Mr. Canar and S&W. I find it really cool to have these. It says a bit about the owner and speaks of the wartime conditions of the times. A good bit of history here.

So, 90 years ago, people were asking if they could use the latest super-whammo-blammo ammo in their older firearms.

Yep. I found it interesting that the old 22 was referred to as small and little, but no mention of model number. Made between 1905 and 1910.
Model numbers came along in 1959. I think the letter called it a a K-22. Somebody here will know all about it.
