Non S&W EDC

I carry one gun, exclusively. No rotation. That's why it's called an "Every Day Carry".
My EDC has been a Glock 23 for many years. Then I down sized to an S&W 9mm Shield. I put Truglo TRX Pro sights on it, which helped my 73 year old eyesight quite a lot. Alas, open sights have become a chore for me anymore.
So, now my EDC is a Springfield Armory Hellcat with a Wasp Red Dot sight.
13+1 9mm rounds, plus a 15 round spare. Disappears under a t shirt. The red dot makes a HUGE difference for me. I shoot this gun very well. I just completed my annual LEOSA qualification.
This will be my last (and best) EDC.

I also do not understand the "carry rotation" practice.

My edc for the past five years is a Beretta 92FS/G in a Sparks Executive Companion IWB holster.

My eyes also need help. Earlier this year I brought my first Glock. A 43X MOS which I have modified for Shield Arms 15 round magazines. I mainly brought it to see what all the excitement is for Red Dot Optics. In addition to 🔴 Optic I am planning on installing a compensator on it. Hey it's only money right?

My most trusted is a Shield Plus, 9mm. In the past I had a Walther PPS 40 which was a great gun but I just don't do 40 anymore.
I did buy a Hellcat Pro recently but haven't had a chance to take it out yet. Springfield has a promotion going right now that includes 3 free mags so, I'm looking at having 5 mags for this one. Lots of good reviews out there but I need to make sure it works for me.
We have a Ruger LCP 380 that is very small and light but not a gun I enjoy shooting all that much.

I've owned I don't know how many Smith and Wesson's over the years. These days, I'm down to just one, a Model 39-2, and I don't carry that.

My most carried now is a Walther PPK/S in 380.

Like many others here, I have a lot of choices but for everyday carry I believe in sticking to the same firearm for the majority of my carry. My SA Micro 1911 in 45acp is with me 95-99% of the time I am awake and has been for about 16 years. For those few instances where I go and need something lower profile, it's my Kahr Arms CM9 and for really discrete carry, the Kahr Arms P380 gets the duty. In the winter when I am out shoveling or snow blowing, I have Ruger LCR that I can drop into one of the outer pockets of my insulated Carhartt coat.

I have to agree with the EC9s Ruger. Just plain old hollow points. This gun has never failed to do anything wrong. Sometimes walking the dog in the evening I'll carry OWB either a Beretta 92s, very reliable, or the Tisas 5" 1911 in.45. I have never had a problem, never, with any of these guns. But daily carry is the Ruger.

For late night trips to take the garbage down to the street, or early morning trips down the driveway to my truck, I just slip a chief's special snub in my coat pocket in a pocket holster.

But my EDC is a Kahr CM9 at 4:00. I like having a 9mm that is amazingly small and easy to conceal. One of the members over on KahrTalk made me a nice leather mag holder for two spares that I keep in my back pocket. Imprint looks like a wallet.

I'm a skinny guy, and larger guns are harder for me to conceal without printing that seems excessive. The Hellcat looks interesting to me. Might be worth a look to get those extra 7 or 8 shots in the mag. The red dot would be nice with my old eyes too.

My only "non-S&W" EDC is a Kimber Ultra Carry (Series I).

While I am heavily invested in .38Spl, .357 and .45ACP and never feel under-gunned with 5, 6 or 7+1 rounds, I am giving serious consideration to the Sig P365.

But the thought of starting from scratch with a new caliber is giving me some pause. Not sure if I'm just itching to follow the current trend - my youngest revolver is 30 years old - or if there is some valid reason to add the P365 to my small accumulation. It appears to be a fine handgun, but I'm struggling with the "need".

MetalMan I hear you. I've always carried a model 36 stoked with 158gr FBI load and 5 more in a speed strip. It conceals well and I shoot it well……. Until now that is. I suddenly can't see sights very well. I have other conceal carry guns but bought myself a P365 anyways. It's small enough to pocket carry and more than doubles
My capacity. The Indiana Mall Shooting was an eye opener for me. If I have to engage a threat at that distance (30yds reported) I want great sights and hi capacity. I'm ringing steel silhouettes at 50yds with ease , with the 365. Granted I can do the same with a K frame but only 6 times not 11. Buy one and don't look back.

BSA1. I think the term rotation comes from different guns for different dress codes and weather.

Simple,

It's either this.....or this...depending on the weather.

I used to a No Rotation purist but life happens.

This is my "Rotation"

Each has a specific purpose

The 43 is what I carry to the Gym. The 26 is what I carry if I'm going somewhereI can't bring the gun in or when I'm just around the house and the 19 is what I carry when I leave home.

When I carry an auto pistol it either a Government Model or a Lightweight Commander. If I'm going to Philly, which I try to avoid, I carry a Glock 32 .357 Sig. I also have a KelTec P32 that I carry on weekends in the warm weather, and as a back up gun at work.

In terms of revolvers I carry a Ruger SP-101 a lot. Years ago I routinely carried a 1950 Colt Detective Special.

I was at my LGS picking up a S&W M&P 2.0 45 and saw a P365 in the case they'd just got in.

Asked to check it out, and as soon as I held it, it felt like it was made for me. Got 2 new guns that day. I can't see anything ever replacing the Sig as my EDC.

The Springfield Armory Hellcat Pro is now my favorite. 15 rd magazines, 3.7" barrel. Got rid of my 2 Shields.

Higher cap. pistols are a must in some areas that i have to pass through. XDm 10mm 3.8", Hellcat, or a G27 (w. X-Grip and G23 mag).

The only S&W I might carry is the very easy to conceal 642-1. The other S$Ws i own would be too large, or too expensive to replace, and none have a higher round capacity than 8+1. I would have given the M&P 10mm a try but the clowns in charge weren't smart enough to produce them back when the current 10mm market began to get hot. Not complaining though...i love the XDm.

I also do not understand the "carry rotation" practice....

Easy to understand if you think of change in weather and change in wardrobe. A lot of people don't live in a region that stays above 65 degrees all year long...'summer carry' and 'winter carry' choices vary for many.

I see a lot of people here (and other post) like the Kahr CM9. Has anyone ever compared one side by side with the P365. I've never handled the Kahr. But it seems people who have them love them.

Good strategy as the manual of arms and familiarity is the same for all of them.
