Not Really a Bear Thread

I believe the 44 mag will kill a grizzly. It has always seemed to me that how fast it will kill the bear is the problem. Unfortunately I always imagine they find the Griz carcass some miles away and open up the stomach and find bits of the shooter in the stomach.

In honor of the thread's (almost) 3 year anniversary, a photo of the gun in question. To me it is either a short Super Redhawk or a longer Alaskan; 5" barrel with extra machine work to taper the barrel. It's, um, interesting...

Who could bear to buy that ugly thing?

Forget large powerful, big bore handguns !
Bears normally pause before eating to say grace. If you are the bear's main course, this is the time to draw your small lightweight, small caliber handgun and shoot yourself, cause this is THE END!

Used to have a Hamilton Bowen converted Redhawk in .475 Linebaugh that I got from a guy in Alaska, but not much need for anything of that size here in Virginia. Besides, it beat the snot out of my wrist the first cylinder I put through it. Had it for a week before I traded it for a Browning Citori.
