Now I've done it...I'm getting a PLASTIC GUN

The actual example:

There are many like it, but this one is mine!

In two months it'll be for keeps.

It does need some cleaning up. It was put away dirty.

I figured out my preferred backstrap set up; small back and medium sides. It feels PERFECT.

There's plenty to go around!

Nothing wrong with Glock. This one just doesn't have a crooked dust cover, has a good set of sights and trigger out of the box, has a proper grip angle and ergonomics for normal human hands, and doesn't require a match barrel to shoot well.

Glocks are a tinkerers gun.

Congrats on the new purchase. I've had some limited experience with the VP9 as my local range officer picked one up early this year, and has been kind enough to let me put a few rounds down range with it on a few occasions. He loves his VP9 as much as I love my P30.

To echo your comment, once you get the back straps to your best fit, the gun becomes second nature, and almost feels like part of your hand..

If you're thinking about getting an extra mag or two I'd recommend getting your email address registered for email notifications as the mags become available. They have been harder to come by since they share the same ones as my P30. (I'm not sure if I'm allowed to list the other websites on a forum post, but I can PM them to you, if you want?)

Rick, along with the VP9, ya got some other cool toys lurking in that Flickr account . That DR looks like a lot of fun!

The DR is fun. My Buell is a riot.

I've got a couple nice things. Everyone needs a hobby or two.

I'm hoping to stop buying stuff and just enjoy it. It's tough!

Got it to the range.

Started with 20 rounds of Speer Gold Dot HP.

Ten into this target.

Five of those are touching. The others not so much. In slow fire the sharp edges along the bottom of the trigger guard are evident.

In rapid fire it's no problem.

100 rounds. "Uncontrolled' pairs. The first shot was fired as soon as the front sight was aquired. The second shot was let fly...which worked surpringly well most of the time. The headshots were as fast as the front sight found its way back on target. Most were split between five and seven yards. A partial mag was fired at 10. The gun is very easy to shoot fast. Going slow my performance was quite average.

The trigger pull on my sample has a six pound break according to my scale. The take up is light, like a two stage match trigger in a rifle, with a hard break...like a hammer fired single action pistol. That and the natural way it points as well as the controllable recoil made it easy despite having a heavier trigger than my other pistols. The pull feels lighter than it is.

The kid demonstrates.

Every HK pistol I've tried has felt like I've owned it forever and has been easy to shoot and accurate. This one is no exception.

Compared to my other guns it's pretty thick in the middle, buy the contours and light weight make that size manageable.

The kid liked it until he tried the 1911. Oh well.

Overall it's easily my favorite striker fired gun. As a shooter I still prefer a full size 1911 or large frame revolver...they're just not always practical to take with you.

Of course, the gun had no bobbles of any kind.

It was a little weird having no safety or decocker to manipulate.

I look forward to doing it again.

Very nice Rick A I bought one back in Feb.

A buddy of mine has one of these. I finally got a chance to shoot it a couple weeks ago. It did not disappoint. Almost as comfortable as my M&Ps. Would definitely consider adding one to the inventory.

I remember finding myself at a Tupperware party once. It can be hard to get away without ordering something.
