Got it to the range.
Started with 20 rounds of Speer Gold Dot HP.
Ten into this target.

Five of those are touching. The others not so much. In slow fire the sharp edges along the bottom of the trigger guard are evident.
In rapid fire it's no problem.

100 rounds. "Uncontrolled' pairs. The first shot was fired as soon as the front sight was aquired. The second shot was let fly...which worked surpringly well most of the time. The headshots were as fast as the front sight found its way back on target. Most were split between five and seven yards. A partial mag was fired at 10. The gun is very easy to shoot fast. Going slow my performance was quite average.
The trigger pull on my sample has a six pound break according to my scale. The take up is light, like a two stage match trigger in a rifle, with a hard break...like a hammer fired single action pistol. That and the natural way it points as well as the controllable recoil made it easy despite having a heavier trigger than my other pistols. The pull feels lighter than it is.
The kid demonstrates.

Every HK pistol I've tried has felt like I've owned it forever and has been easy to shoot and accurate. This one is no exception.
Compared to my other guns it's pretty thick in the middle, buy the contours and light weight make that size manageable.
The kid liked it until he tried the 1911. Oh well.

Overall it's easily my favorite striker fired gun. As a shooter I still prefer a full size 1911 or large frame revolver...they're just not always practical to take with you.
Of course, the gun had no bobbles of any kind.
It was a little weird having no safety or decocker to manipulate.
I look forward to doing it again.
