Im just paranoid. If something happens, i would rather draw instead of running upstairs to my safe then running back down stairs.

I am sure others carry at home....right?

I understand completely. I keep a weapon on both sides of my home and my bug in a kitchen drawer so, no matter where I'm at, I can always take care of the nuts if the need arises.

I carry at home and its always my bodyguard. The bodyguard in my new leather holster fits into my new balance shorts that i wear around the house and is a clean draw. The gun/rig is so light that it does not weigh down the shorts at all.

Yes, the rebates did influence my hasty decision.

Many of us S&W fans have had our BG380's for a while and those of you that bought them with the built in laser, are you sorry you choose that option? The reliability is poor. Never comes on when you want to use it,
batteries dead or poor contact, laser beam off POI, or poor beam intensity. Also I haven't even touched on the subject of: Laser mtg. screw coming loose, backing out , catching on the slide etc.

After a session at the range, you must remove the unit to clean your gun. (According to S&W instructions) In my opinion, the laser is more of a hindrance than an aid! I suggest to anyone considering the purchase of a BG380, get it in the no laser version! If you want one later, you can get the add on model.

I ordered a BG yesterday from Palmetto.

I first stopped in to a LGS to try one on for size, having never shot one, and loved it. The trigger is exactly what I was expecting, and prefer actually. Got the cold shoulder real quick when I asked about shipping an online purchase to their store.

I have owned the Bodyguard for 2 years now ,I've adjusted the laser once when I got it ,replaced the batteries once and have put at least 500 rds through it , have never had a problem no light strikes, pretty accurate for what it is.good little gun once you get used to the trigger.It will be interesting to see the 2.0

Congrats on the BG!!! I either carry it or the Shield. Only issues I've had is with ammo. Doesn't like Perfecta. Some FTF with it. Also, of all the SD ammo I've tried it likes HydraShok the best!!!

Best of luck with the new Bodyguard as well. I actually use it for a house gun as well. Very small, light, and with its built in laser will definatley get the job done if needed. I've had some light strikes in the beginning with some target ammo but never with good quality SD ammo. Best to stick with Hydroshoks and critical defense. I've had zero issues with those.
And I'll have to say that after some extensive breaking in;over 500 rounds; that no light strikes and everything is much smoother. Including the trigger.
Just make sure you check on the batteries once in awhile to make sure they don't leak inside the laser. Good idea to replace them once a year. Has nothing to do with the gun or laser. Just something that can happen when using those types of batteries in anything electronic.

The reason I ask is my wife got a gun with a lasermax it was not good the switch was lose it would not stay on or set. I called & they sent a new one that seemed to be an up grade & it has been good for years now.

I'm late to the game with my Bodyguard .380s; carried a Kahr PM9 since they came out, and a MK 9 before that--but for various reasons wanted something even more concealable, and went with the BG because it sat nicely in my hand--came to point nicely and naturally. Now, I've always thought that the gun didn't make that much difference, but in this case I've been quite utterly surprised--despite the long trigger pull, I've found myself shooting much better with the little BG than my Kahr, right from the get go. No laser--I gave up on those long ago, as that red dot is simply not easily seen in situations where you need to see it, and I did dab the front sight with some lime green sight paint which I refresh with each cleaning. And yes, I went through some light strikes with S&B ammo initially, but complete reliability at this point, and simply a nicely designed, modestly priced, and delightful handgun that's become my daily carry.

Mine loves federal 90 grain Hydrashoks,Winchester WhiteBox /PDX1 95 grain, and Cor bon 90 grain hollowpoints. It likes other ammo too,but not foreign ammo. PMC and S&B are ok No wolf commie ****!

Went to the range yesterday, 4/23 and put my B.G. through a stress test. It worked well. Shot a mix of Winchester white box Federal P.M.C and hand loads all ball. The more I shot this gun the luckier I got. I did however after a while dug out my shooting gloves, right hand only. I don.t doubt for a minute its a keeper I can find nothing to dislike about it. Next time may try some h.p. bullets.

Picked up my BG this afternoon from the gun club along with 150 rounds of different ammo to test. Cleaned, lubed and ready to hit the range this weekend.

A local store just advertised this pistol for just $210 after the rebate. It's hard to resist. What is the trigger like? That's my main concern. I had an SD9 VE and I couldn't get used to the horrible trigger. The travel was long and the tension didn't change from the beginning of the pull to when it would go off. I found myself anticipation and flinching. Will this one be similar?

Sounds like your SD9 and the BG have a very similar trigger so you may not be happy with it. It doesn't seem to stack like you'd expect but, it remains consistent and predictably firm all the way to the break. I ordered mine from Palmetto for $249 and it took a week and a day to arrive to my FFL.

I have several hundred rounds through mine and I have had no problems at all. I dropped it on the pavement once and was surprised that I could not find a single mark on it. It is a pretty tough gun, very compact and lightweight. I like it a lot.
