Now They Want The Handguns As Well

Right now its just convenient and easy to blame the black evil AR-15 but wanting to ban just that gun is only the tip of the iceberg. Nothing either proposed or passed in washington can ever be taken at face value, it it often just a small snapshot of a much larger picture. The money, means or the votes are often not there for any proposed measure to pass in its entirety so more times then not a small picture of what is actually a much larger goal is what we see proposed at the start.

That's the way it is with most of the Libs!

Give em a inch and they'll try to take a mile! Maybe the gun controls they're enforcing in Chicago should be implemented in all the rest of Illinois? Illinois representative Luis Gutiérrez

Now, nobody ever really thought they we're gonna stop
with just the "evil black rifles" did they ??
They want to DISARM the entire country folks. Little by little.
But that is the ultimate goal.
Stay Vigilant !!!

Everyone living in Illinois will be as safe as those in Chicago

The anti-gun folks hate guns, and hate people that like, enjoy and own guns. They are good at the "salami technique." First you go after "evil" guns, like AKs and ARs and .50 Barretts. Then you go after high-capacity magaines, because nobody "needs" them. Throw in cop-killer bullets. Then small, cheap, easily concealable "saturday night specials." Pretty soon you will be limited to owning a 5" 38 special and one box of target wadcutters, which will cost you $2 per round, and you will have to allow the local cops to examine your weapon, ammunition and gun safe any time they want. Anybody who thinks there is a middle ground is deluded. The 50-yard line will keep being moved further and further back until we have nothing.

I know this is hard to swallow, even for a bunch like most of us, that know what the end game is, but the handwriting is clearly on the wall. In order for the "new world order" to happen it just won't do to have a bunch of armed dissidents freely roaming around. I also believe that when the knock comes at my door it won't be the local deputy or the National Guard. Thanks to the treaty recently signed in our behalf by the outgoing Secretary of State it will be the guys in the powder blue helmets who don't know you and could care less about your rights as an American, since they have few individual rights in their own country. BTW, I typically avoid 'doomsday' thinking, but if we don't keep up the pressure on our representatives we just might lose it all. Laugh if you will, but history bears it out. No nation is above being destroyed from within if the citizens allow it to happen.

Amen to that, we have to stay on top of this!

They don't hate all of the people with guns... only the ones they don't control. I am sure they want their guards that protect them to have the newest, latest, and greatest.

I think you are dead on with the techniques used to get there. They will get what they can while they can. Make a small change that is "reasonable" or "sensible." That in turn redefines the norms and expectations of the people.
In fact, they just have to change those norms to get us to believe that anything is acceptable. Consider that in 1919, it took a Constitutional Amendment to authorize Congress to ban alcohol. Today, we have various regulations enacted by unelected people to ban things. The EPA's environmental regulations spring to mind. How times have changed.

It's nice to know that some people are actually looking for the root of a problem. I would not worry about blue helmets thought, they have hands full maintaining instability in too many places. I'd rather expect some Blackwater (now Academi) guy wearing ATF hat.

Hardly a shock, really.

Ultimately the goal of many Dems in DC and elsewhere is to ensure that our grandkids need a security clearance just to look at a flintlock at a museum.

I really doubt it. Handgun issue is a US State thing. My first permit was 1975. I was 1% in New York City and maybe 20% Nation wide.
Now in 2013 -last I read, all but one State issues pistol permit.
Handguns in America has become like cell phone in the 90's. Everyone as to have one.
On Federal Level -the Supreme Court stopped 'anti-handgun' last year.
As for AR Ban -- its all but dead. Its gone from telling us what we can own ---To please can we have this??
